I've used the Mr Curly Video to test my computer's sound since it was put on youtube. SO if I am trying to fix something on my computer's stereo sound system......that is the video I always use. Maybe I'v got a second video to use now haha. I've got to say the fact he only has 35k is mind boggling to me!

I really appreciate how this isn't just the novelty of the homemade instruments, but it's actually beautiful music!

I first saw Mr.Curly and the Smoothie Straw in 2017 on broadcast TV in Missouri (famous). I have been subscibed ever since then. All my teenagers and older, recognize you and say "I remember this!", when I showed them Mr.Curley is back.

What about a curly that had some sort of membranes that vibrated with the bass of the instrument, and whose vibration speed could be modulated with the change in grip strength of the instrument?

Just more brilliant. Absolutely love the ingenuity.

This type of instrument has been around since at least 1996 (probably a lot longer) where bart hopkin published it in his book "musical instrument design". It was part of a family of instruments he called the moe consisting of the moe sax, the moe flute and the moe mem.

This Glissotar basically is like a modern version of an old 1920s slide soprano saxophone which was a soprano saxophone with a long slit in it and you changed notes by putting your fingers on the leather strap that had holes in it. If you haven't seen it, look up "Unheard of Instruments in the Saxophone Family" by The United States Army Field Band and go to 7:11 on that video and you can see his King C slide soprano sax.

I think you are a magician. You make it looks so easy. I've tried and tried to make the rred, and cant get a sound out of it. And mine looks so misshapen despite my best efforts. This tells me how good you actually are! And what great playing!

beautiful. I just got an album *Dorian Reeds (for brass)*, a Terry Riley composition - for horn, by *Matt Starling* .. am wondering if Master Riley was referring to this kind of instrument.
