Nice one. The colored plastic cap was especially made for the Italian market. Pelikano Antimacchia 1968-1971 In Italy, the silver-colored metal cap was not so well received. You wanted to have more color for the school fountain pens. In 1968 Pelikan Milan had four models produced, all of which had a colored plastic cap. The prices for the fountain pens with this plastic cap were about 1/6 below those with a metal cap. (Source: pelikan-collectibles de)

I have some questions 1 if I want to refill the ink I need only introduce the pen in the ink? 2 if I need clean because the ink inside the pen it’s dry how can I do that? My grandpa give me his pen as a gift but I don’t understand how can I use it correctly so your help is appreciated thanks

Sorry to say but that is not the originall nib for the #7 Pen The original would be a keyhole nib with the nib type colour imprinted on it. Beautiful pen regardless, you can't go wrong with a vintage Waterman.

*@The Pen Collector* on a Montblanc 342 (like you have) with the blue ink window, should the cap ring (the one that is on the edge of the cap) have a manufacturing cut or a seam at one spot on the edge of the ring? or is it completely smooth? I am wondering such tiny cut is damage or factory made (maybe stamped part?)

Dear Bogdan and Community, Happy 2025!!! Searching for Writing Instruments that signed Armistices, found Gen. Eisenhower's Parker 51, Gen. McArthur's Parker Duofold and a filigree version of this Fountain in gold filigree signing the Treaty of Versailles in 1919. I think it was a Waterman Ideal N° 444. Would love to know more about peace-bringing pens!

Happy New Year Bogdan 🎉 Personally, I wouldn't hesitate to use Micro-Mesh to even out the nib and make it usable. Either way, it will be better than the current, unusable state. I did this successfully on a Pelikan 400 nib. You can do it! 🎉🎉🎉

While it won’t be an inexpensive repair, I was able to have Scribo pen company repair my Oma’s pistons as most of the workers and machinery there are from the old Omas factory

I have only ever used steel Kaweco nibs so I was interested to your 14K nib.👍 Moreover, it is a suction−type old Kaweco. And by the way, it's a nice colour ink. I'll look for it next time.

That is just a lovely pen. Did not see you dipping the nib a second time, so it is not only a wet nib but also an incredible feed with lots of capacity. I concur, 21 USD very well spent!

@@ThePenCollectorBogdan Happy you got a nice haul! On Sunday December 22 I went to my flea market. Got my very first Parker 51 (black - only a pearlescent gray jewel in the cap, not in the body) Aerometric in a steel cover with the "Press the ribbed bar 4 times" and the "Use Parker Ink." inscriptions. Cap is gold filled with the 5 diverging lines coming from a point near the jewel. Tipping is worn but still present. It seems likely that the last owner was an User so it seems restored. I laughed because it is basically the same model you reviewed all those years ago! (nib seems OK in mine though). Also got a Parker 61 0.9 mm Pencil in Dove Gray with the green and pink gold rainbow pattern. Works like a champ! Both costed me 15 USD. I still have to ink the 51 to see how it works and if cap seals properly... so i am crossing my fingers!
