So I am currently at Windrock my fifth trip here and I wouldn’t say I have the best machine but I did go on trail 16 from the button of the mountain up but would like to hear what trail you say is a must for beauty and some challenges not as bad as 16 of course lol

my jeep'n buddy brags about how good his km3 are at windrock... are they different on a jeep vs sxs ? or are they just not as good as he thinks ?
@WindrockParkTV2 күн бұрын
For SxS, I don't think I would own a set of KM3. They are okay on hard pack trails and roads, but not much good for slick clay or mud trails that you need grip. There is absolutely no side grip on them at all. So if you try to straddle a rut then you might slip into the rut.

we did this trail on 4-6-24 in a jeep xj with 35"s, and a jeep tj with 38"s. i don't remember anything challenging, but it was a very nice enjoyable ride. thanks for helping keep the park open while also filming some of these videos to help us plan future trips

Was one of the original MT bike DH trailbuilders back in the early days of the park. Building and maintaining trails was labor intensive to say the least. Can't imagine trying to stay on top of maintaining the trail network you have now. No longer on two wheels. Now a 4x4 driver. Your videos are a great way for me to plan my loops when I ride.

😃Thank you for taking the time to do these. Its nice to see that there are trails at Windrock that you don't need a buggy or 40 inch tires. We've been pushing off making the trip because I figured our rigs were not ready and there were only a couple trails we could do.

The safety gear doesn't work in the back of the sxs lol

Well considering the size of the tree mess, sometimes when we use the little saw and it’s not a big mess we don’t put on the chaps. For the bigger mess and trees that take more time yes we use it most definitely. It’s really the operator’s call. All the Trail Crew employees are safety conscious.

Yes trail 11 is a great trail.we all come to windrock for something.being it hard or easy. There is something for everyone. I have never had a complaint of the trails.

I love that you guys work to keep the moderate trails moderate instead of listening to the "hardcore" guys who think everything should become like 16 and 15. Trails 2 and 22 were always the "connector" trails we used to get to the 'harder' stuff and it's good to be able to zip up them without having to spend all day navigating obstacles that don't need to be there.
@billapplegate6750Ай бұрын
The only better view is cross mountain. But your right that is beautiful.

It is funny how people complain when you "maintain" the trails. All these "hardcore" people do not realize that this sport is growing at an exponential rate, and WR is the most epic place in the country. If 16, 22 and others do not get some love, people will just stop coming. The hardcore peeps will say that is what they want...until the place becomes insolvent...

2, 22, & 24 were the first trails I ever rode on back in 07 at 9 years old. I completely welcome all the maintenance done to preserve those trails so that my kids can experience the same start I had out there. Keep up the awesome work. Maybe eventually you could make it to the other side and do 57. We did that one this past Friday and it’s gotten rough.
