Coincedently , the part in And the cradle will rock ......when Dave sayys "Rock On" & the riff Eddie is playing ... that riff made me think of Dont call us, we'll call you in the versus. even though they arent the same, In my head the last few years it always reminded me of that song.

David Lee Roth talking about "Heavy Metal." Wow. Early reference to the genre that would follow. Scott Reeder from Kyuss does a great version.

Tennessee here. My property has been in the family since 1920. There are a couple spots that were the trash pits. Very deep pits. Old things constantly surfacing. Out in the woods is an old circular screen TV. I have a massive collection of tiny medicine bottles and such and even found an Ethiopian coin! We have a long tradition of military service so it's fairly explanatory.

I think Roth said it was a Jew ( himself ) and Asians that saved Rock and Roll/Heavy Metal. Considering the era they came up in ( disco, punk and new wave ) he is right.

Van Halen was such an awesome band. Van Hagar? Not so much. People that like the Van Hagar era were never real VH fans. 👍

Ed asked Sammy. It's not like Sammy begged to be in the band. Sammy was basically the EMT that gave the band a couple more years of life. btw DKOT with Roth sucked bigtime.

I just watched the original of this. Now this comes up. This is a pretty good cover but they didn't do the "John, Paul and George" homage.

In the hands of Van Halen, this song sounds like Coverdale/Bolin-era Deep Purple

We had the pleasure of working with Jerry Corbetta from Sugarloaf back in the mid 90's. He heard our bands version of "Don't Call Us" from our first EP kzbin.info/www/bejne/bZ6cdJ-cgpmFisk and liked it so much that he came to see us while we were touring in Vancouver and invited us to collaborate with him on a few songs at Grand Master studio's in L.A. It was a great experience working on pre-production with him for a week in Montreal, then L.A. for 2 more weeks. Great memories. Thanks again Jerry. R.I.P

Sugarloaf is a highly underrated band. Green-Eyed Lady was their best song, IMO. Rock on!

"underrated" now just means "I like this". People have destroyed that word. :(
@Fosster11526 күн бұрын
@eriklarson9137 I like a lot of bands that were not underrated or underappreciated, but Sugarloaf definitely fits that definition. They made some good music, including "Green-Eyed Lady" and "Don't Call Us, We'll Call You." If you don't like their music, that's fine, but I understand the meaning of "underrated."
@zyrrhos22 күн бұрын
@@Fosster115 The words overrated and underrated have been misused and overused. I like to think bands are rated exactly how they were meant to be. You mentioned both their hits. Great songs. "Green-Eyed Lady" is otherworldly. But what else did they do off the top of your head?
