It’s been 16 years since Eurostar pulled out of Waterloo for the last time before they were transferred over to the new terminus London St Pancras

I’m looking for more info on Ingmire Hall. I know a bit of the history as available on Wikipedia. I’m still trying to better understand why it was given that name as it was built for the Websters. I know the old meanings of Ing and Mire. My name surprisingly is David Ingmire.

That was really sad seeing these final trains for Paris, and Brussels. Via Swanley, Herne Hill and brixton non stop which was the very last day over 10 years ago. Now all services transferred to st Pancras international

@@mikekirwan5326 I think he confused for the fact that Belgium do use DC electric for supply but not third rail. Belgium use 3000VDC overhead. The 373s have a seperate pantograph just for the Belgium DC supply it's the frontmost pantograph on the power car. The rear one which is used more commonly is the AC pan.

John Lingard at 1:00 who later joined St Helens Striders. I think I was competing at Wigan that weekend on the track in the Lancashire Championships.

@Eugeneandco Most of the Networkers have similar traction systems to the 1996 stock used on the Jubilee Line, both use Metro-Cammell equipment. Some 465s however had Brush traction packages, all of which have now been replaced with Hitachi equipment, which is the same traction gear found under the Class 395 'Javelin' stock.

Nice Video. I rode the Eurostar out of Waterloo in August 2007. Wish the US had rail service like that!

Great to see this - thanks. I left in 81 - so was just doing 'o' levels at this time. Great to see the 'common room' again (and the pre-fabs, lol). I recognise some of the teachers - 'Dave' Atkin, 'Caveman' Clough - and is that really 'Doc' Phillips?. I remember a few of the others - 'Botty' and not sure if i spotted Janet Skepper and Sue Briscoe too? Great to hear Deaf School too, I saw them in 2007 - what a great night that was! Look out for them again in 2009

see the bit at waterloo were you show the depature board and the clock. The last i was there, which was about 5-6 months ago it was full of dirt, dust and grease. It was sad to see it like it but it would of been even sader if the eurostar stopped altogether.

how dramatic...from these videos it hardly looks any different to the way it is now and when compared to places such as st helens, kirkby or skem i wouldnt worry at all about walking around rainford

What a great film, the beginning and end of an interesting railway era. The Southern Region will seem dull without them. Does your son, Alex (seelking) still like buses! Thank you both for your comments.
