My experience with DJI customer service with a Flyaway case--CAS-19230357-B1Y0H0 The amount of kind but in the end meaningless words such as we are sorry, we understand and we will do the best, did not equate to the service provided and I am to elaborate. I invested into a number of DJI products including action 4 and action 5, Osmo 6, mini pro 4, integra goggles, Neo, and avata 2, also purchasing a 2 year fly away refresh program for the 3 drones. I liked the products and then the day came when one of them flew away, that was avata 2 and I had to deal with DJI customer service. It began with a representative who assisted me with extracting fly data from the integra goggles. We found out thru various legion of steps that the data was not synced between the avata 2 and the integra goggles. The rep came to conclusion that the only way to provide the proof of a downed avata 2, was to directly put the phone camera to the lenses of integra goggles and record the last view before avata 2 went down and provided me the link to submit it. I have submitted the video file as directed. Time passed and I contacted the chat support for progress update and was told that the previous rep was wrong and the solution that was provided is not good and we need to try data extraction again. So we went thru the step that were done with the previous rep again to no avail and next was to ship me an OTG cable. Time passed by and I received the cable and contacted DJI support again and we went thru the same step over again with no new solution. A rep asked me if I would ship the integra goggles to DJI to do that themselves and I shipped it to DJI for their expertise on extracting data. Next, I was contacted by DJI support and was told that they can’t extract the data, what a surprise, however there is more. A DJI rep told me the integra goggles need to be repaired and I would have to purchase a new Avata 2, even though I have purchased the 2 year fly away refresh warranty. I have followed the directions of every rep to realize I am being pushed into buying another avata 2. Anyone considering investing into the DJI equipment will realize this too and await the DJI support to do the same to them if it would ever happen and the probability for this to happen, is very high and so is to be left to fend for yourself. The experience is my conclusion that even the DJI may be a giant in the drone industry, still has a long way to go to truly earn and keep the trust of their customers and to realize it is the customers that make a company successful. DJI customer support is more of a sales department and is interested in making profit and push people to buy new products rather than actually help to recover what is lost. It is vivid it is not about support, it is all about more purchases. The chance of a flyaway incident happening is high, and the likelihood that I will not get the support expected is even higher.

I have developed a theory, and I don't actually know if this is true, that KZbin's compression algorithm is causing some of this. I always shoot at 30fps and use an appropriate ND filter where necessary, and the finished MP4 videos are always clean and smooth with no juddering. I then upload that same video to my KZbin channel, and when it comes out the other end there is almost always a certain amount of stuttering and jerkiness. I have never been able to figure out how to make this stop. I wonder if you have any thoughts on this?

So filmed in 4k30 bit started the project on a 4k60 timeline. I I used my 4k30 clips & noticed there was some judder? Not a lot but still judder. How do I fix that? I use lumafusion… I’m sure that’s not the reason but still…

Hi, just wondering how did you compare pictures is section 6 of your video. I am a landscape photographer using air 3 and I found these pictures very noisy even and basic iso and also very blured. Something you can see on your video as well. larger Air3 sensor creates very awkward magenta tint when you load RAW to a photo editing software. Many uses complain about it saying that this is the problem with that 48mpx sensor they used. Is it the case with S version?

New to Davinci here, got tired of Adobe's toxic pricing system lol. Any reason why you can't do those adjustments on one node? Can you explain the importance of the node order? Thanks! *edit* that colour warper tool looks amazing. Also having the curves tool layered over the histogram is brilliant.
@chrisharris_arizona
@chrisharris_arizona Ай бұрын
It’s a best practice to separate out your adjustments into unique nodes and will make your life easier by saving you time when you name each node according to the adjustments made. It’s easier to find the node that adjusts a specific thing like exposure or color balance because the further you get into making adjustments (on 1 node), it would get difficult to find what exact adjustment you should be manipulating to get your desired effect, and one adjustment could muddy the effect of another adjustment when all on the same node. Since you’re coming from Adobe products, think of it this way…in photoshop with a photo, instead of using adjustment layers, on one layer like you’re suggesting in Davinci, you do color balance, exposure, curves/contrast, grading…but then want to manipulate that layer later…but it’s already heavily influenced by what you’ve already done to it so it’s going to have some odd reactions to future adjustments you’ve made and it won’t be like editing the original photo nor would you be able to easily get it to go back to what the original photo looked like. This isn’t an apples to apples comparison as my photoshop example bakes in those adjustments and in davinci with nodes you can readjust and aren’t beholden to the changes you’ve previously made. As cliche as it sounds, by doing a little bit of organizing/labeling upfront, you’re setting yourself up for success later. Look into what power grades are so you don’t have to setup your nodes manually for each project…you’ll just be able to click the scroll button to apply a blank power grade to your footage (or one with adjustments already made) and your nodes will magically appear, ready for you to manipulate them.
@zacjohnson8404
@zacjohnson8404 Ай бұрын
@chrisharris_arizona thanks heaps for the response. I practiced a bit and the nodes make sense. Kind of like adjustment layers. It's hard to get off Adobe, because I grew up on it.

@@zacjohnson8404 I hear you. 20+ years using adobe only so davinci was a tough leap but after an hour using the free version, I paid for the studio version and haven’t looked back for adjusting videos. You will get absolutely hooked on learning about Davinci as its tools and workflows become more apparent. I watch Cullen Kelly for color grading with Davinci…he’s got a plethora of educational videos. Tom’s video here is showing his way of stylizing his footage at a quick, basic level…that’s not a rip on his technique as it accomplishes what he wants but there are other ways to get your footage graded. There are a number of comments about his grade being too dark but that’s the look he wants so it’s right for him. He’s also said he now uses a different technique than the one demonstrated here. If you don’t want that darker look he has, learning about what middle gray is, how to create a middle gray point on your custom curves, and how to manipulate the curve after will preserve the mids/exposure while allowing you to adjust the shadows and highlights for your desired contrast…this makes a big difference. When people first get into color grading, they want to slap a LUT on to get a look. This is fine if your footage is properly exposed and color balanced. But how often is your footage perfect straight out of camera? This is a long way of saying, first adjust your exposure as close to what it was when you shot it, same with color balancing, and then you’ll have waaaaayyyy better luck with LUTs (you don’t need to use LUTs at their full strength either)…all on separate nodes of course haha. Good luck to you.

@@chrisharris_arizona Guys, I really love how you help each other out here. Really, that's what I love to see on my channel 🤗 And yes, no worries about ripping my technique apart, it absolutely is just very basic adjustments without going into the depths of color grading and color management. At the time, I didn't know better, but I think it still holds valid for most people that want a simple and effective way to get a look on your drone footage without the need to become an expert. D-Cinelike and D-Log are just a flatter flavour of Rec.709, color management wouldn't necessary bring any advantage here. For proper color grading tutorials, I'd also look out for channels like Cullen Kelly or Darren Mostyn, it is such a complex topic - probably too much for a drone-centric channel 🙂

Great channel! The Air 3S was my pick in the blind test. However, I'll stick with my Air 3, which is my first drone, and I love it so far. I bought split ND filters from Freewell for my Air 3 (different values for the wide and medium tele lenses). Now, with the Air 3S, they’re included in fly more combo. Do they have a single value, or are they also stronger for the wide lens and lighter for the tele lens? By the way, are you from Austria? I think I noticed a flag on a castle :)

@@tycjanjakubczyk I also had the Split NDs for the Air 3 because I was annnoyed that DJI didn't think of that themselves with their own ND filters.
