My buddy got me a sample bottle of Russell's 15, so I understand now why it's regarded so highly. It is balanced well, with a good array of flavors and smells on display. No one smell or flavor dominates from start to finish. It's a very very special bottle for sure! This single rickhouse B sounds like a bare knuckle boxer in comparison. While the 15 is the champ, like Apollo Creed. The champ boxer is probably the better fighter, but the bare knuckle boxer scares the hell out of you! (That's a line from Jay Leno in his video featuring an original 1965 Shelby 427 Cobra Competition!).

I walked in Binny’s to pick up a keg and saw Stagg on the shelf and could not believe it. I’ve been into bourbon for a year and Stagg is one of my favorites to sip downtown $$$$ Finding this bottle was all I could ask for. 24C to me, has less heat than others I’ve enjoyed. Keep up the great content! 🍻

Gotta disagree , the 24A for me beats the 24C, I can’t speak on the 24B. The 24C for me was more herbal and fell a little flatter on the palate and I thought was more off profile. Good video though!

Michter's 10 year bourbon yesterday, Michter's Toasted bourbon today! There's a fair amount of Michter's on the list for the last raffle in our area and both the Toasted and the 10 year bourbon are available! Sounds delicious! I haven't seen or tried any limited Michter's products. The dessert bourbon reference caught my attention though! Old Forester 1910 is a personal favorite of mine. If it's anything like that with out it even being a double oaked product I know I'd love it! My buddy hooked me up with samples from Maker's Mark The Heart Release and Russell's 15. I'm looking forward to trying those! Thanks for sharing!

Oooo! Wild Turkey 12 Year Distiller's Reserve 101! I obviously have not been able to try this due to it being export. It's not impossible to find however, but expect to pay about $180 currently. I believe it's every bit as good as 12 year Wild Turkey sounds like it would be! Just not $180 before shipping good... Russell's Reserve 10 Year should still be roughly $40-45. I'm not aware of any price changes for it. Although there was some buzz recently here regarding the LL/ME laser coded bottles. Supposedly those batches had older juice blended in and the rumor was that it was rejected Russell's 15 barrels. That didn't turn out to be the case, it was 12 or 13 year old barrels but still pretty interesting. As to the 70th Anniversary bottle and that becoming a regularly available product, that's partially true. The 70th Anniversary bottle was a litmus test for returning the 8 year age statement to the US market. For a while now it has been export (mainly Japan) only. This would explain the loss of Wild Turkey funk on the regular 101 bottles, being that well aged barrels were being diverted for the 70th Anniversary, Russell's 15/13/Single Rickhouse/etc. So they weren't being blended into normal production unfortunately. Hence the disappearance of the funk note. Merry Christmas also! Thanks for sharing!

I'm fond of most everything from Jim Beam. I tried the new black label 7 year and it was fine, but I'm partial to my Knob Creek picks! Old Grand-Dad is another staple of mine. They're a great value! This Winter Reserve I haven't actually picked up yet and at $20ish even if I don't like it it's not a huge loss. Thanks for sharing!

Oh man! I'd love to try any EHTBP! It just doesn't make its way around here at all. I've never even seen the Single Barrel either! These barrel proofs are like $80-90 MSRP I think? I can find them all day long online for $500+. It's just frustrating. Thanks for sharing!
