I've got a mondeo 2.2tdci from 2012. Its hard to turn the steering wheel compare to other cars and other brands. But i have no noise when im turning the steering wheel. Just bothers me that the steering is hard. So I changed the fluid and replaced with a new tank. No changes.......im dissapointed.

@@JoeGTJ Is there a certain version of ELM327 that works on the Mondeo MK4? I have one that doesn't connect, however it works perfectly on the MK3 Mondeo and MK2.5 Focus

Well, I had my servo pump and reservoir replaced, and because the Lauber aftermarket pump was starved of servo liquid, they concluded that the new reservoir was at fault and they put back my old reservoir which they said had no filter, and now the pump runs fine... But is it right to have a reservoir with no filter? Did the old one really had no filter?

Well, so far, my steering rack and steering pump have been working fine for over a year now, without the filter at the reservoir for the servo oil.

Hi you commented on my post on talkford I have a whining noise between 2 and 3k rpm and you asked if it sounds like that! It sounds exactly the same as when you move the wheel and have the whine although I have checked the power steering fluid and it is full!

You can clean it with a soft bristle toothbrush. I watched this video. Then removed the resovoir, gave it a good clean. Refilled with steering fluid. Noise gone completely. Good as new. Cheers for the vid mate

That's the best safeguard against pump failure. My 1986 & 1989 Pontiac 6000 STEs had this system. The 89 was purchased with a pump that had failed. Fortunately RockAuto had the pump/motor assembly with a new accumulator for ~$350
