Hello Josh, because it features both you and Flora (I need a guy and a girl), a very audible soundtrack and excellent images, your excellent video would be great as the base for my English lessons about NZ geography. How can I contact you to ask for the necessary permission to use it?

thanks for keeping the long shots of single track in there, so many cycling youtubers go for aesthetics over quality. footage like yours is so valuable in terms of showing the soul of the event. great stuff.

All my back yard and I had a few tears to be honest. Beautifully captured. Rail Trail is hard. Timber Trail my absolute go-to. Actually lived at Arapuni right next to the Suspension Bridge those trails were my daily dog run trails. The *weird* bird noises on the Timber Trail were probably Kaka - they have a big screech that sounds very aggressive!!

Tyre glider in addition to a lever - so so good for getting tires back on . Also consider a beefy reusable zip tie - also helps with getting tires on if you cinch it up to stop the first section pinging back out of the rim

Was that possum in a trap? I know they're an introduced species in NZ but that still made me sad 😢
@alexhofvander15 күн бұрын
I felt the same way. Sad to see an animal suffer like this. 😢
@Josh-Reid15 күн бұрын
Yeah the possum was in a trap. Wasn’t a nice thing to see considering it was still alive. Most of the other traps I’ve seen are meant to be lethal to be more humane. I could have left it out of the video but it’s part of what I experienced and tells the story of what New Zealand is doing to protect the unique bird life.

Loving your NZ videos Josh well done. You’ll Love the S2S the weather will get better once you’re over Mackenzie pass. Also not sure what your plans are after Milford sounds, but come back on to the around the mountain trail thru to Queenstown and catch the steam boat from Walter peak.

I've recently moved over to tubeless and will be going Bikepacking in March. (Only my second trip and last time I was running with tubes). I'm carrying a spare tyre but it's a tubed tyre and obviously a spare couple of inner tubes. My reason for this is that I'm worried about getting a new tubeless tyre to seat properly when I only have a small hand pump and my pocket sized compressor. Is this a justified worry ?
@weeringjohnny16 күн бұрын
A professionally shot video giving a great impression of the trip. But having a camera crew following you and all your kit carried in a van takes the heart out of the adventure. At least it does for me.

I had a 1st-gen Fidlock water bottle in 2019, but the bottle was hard to squeeze; I guess the plastic had to be rigid enough to support the Fidlock spine w/o deforming. Are they any more squeezable now?

Nice video. I was too late for Molesworth last season so hopefully this time around. Probably won’t do the Gaulter section though!!! Hopefully the Whale Trail will be further along! Good truck for avoiding traffic on SH1 out of Picton is to go an hour after the ferry arrives - all the trucks have headed south already.
