Thank you for doing a tour of West where I currently reside and love and been here since opening in July 2024! Yes, there is only one entrance to the underground parking garage, open to public parking as well, and it does tend to have a slight backup, not every hour) a lot. It is a great location to live and I found it very nice to walk around day or night and keep in mind that there are not a lot apartments to rent in a radius of the new West building since it is a super business district area, but it is building up. Finally, this is one of many to come, West, for easy access to the Pacific Ocean, Amtrak, the bus right outside door to the airport(Be in LA in an hour with Amtrak or just ride up the coast north ), and of the Courts if you need to and walk right over and nice is that to have near home? PS. The mayor office of San Diego city has done a great job in getting the unhoused population into housing along with its partners so if nice in the less desirable area look very well cleared and with the recent US Supreme decision on sidewalks it was already being worked before the US Supreme Court decision.

So I hope if I sell the couch again, I recover my cash with the fact it has that different look from what ikea sells. Your couch is nice, but I guess it must be annoying to fix the chaise cushion. Holland is probably going to do the same thing with West as they did with the Merian, first they charge as much as they can for rent and give you the five star treatment, once the building is full they will sell it off like they did with the Merian which was sold to a trillion dollar private equity firm called Brookfield. Then Brookfield will cut expenses to the max, laying off employees, making them work twice as much for the same job, then the good employees will leave and will be substituted with new less experienced ones with lower salaries and a much higher workload and they will cut the budget for everything. Our washing machine broke down and it can't be fixed because the Merian doesn't have the budget to pay a third party vendor who provides parts, whom they haven't paid in a long time for parts. None of the original management is here anymore, half the maintenance left, we often have no one in the office, they work from another building they also manage and the jobs of reception, parking and security there are new temp employees every 3 months or less. Much less window washings, garage sweeps, etc. Even the air filters for the AC they are buying the cheapest possible ones and maintenance is super backlogged and it takes a while for them to get to you. Management also responds to less than half the emails you send them, most of the time you get an out of office reply. This certainly is a factor and one should look carefully at who owns the building. Holland is mostly construction, they can sell their buildings off at a profit. Brookfield as a private equity firm only cares about maximizing profits, they don't care if the company they bought goes bankrupt and is later sold off again as long as they make a profit. Terrible! and once you are settled into an apartment its a ton of work to have to move and start over again.
