Hi Eshi. I'm moving to San Diego end of September. Actually going apartment hunting next week. Just wanted to know if have any current thoughts on The Diega now living there for a while now? It looks beautiful and I plan on taking a tour while I am there. I think Ive watched your videos over a 100 times. lol they are so great and appreciated.

Aw that makes me so happy! I'm still really happy with Diega, but there are obviously some cons I can see since moving here. May have to make a video soon 👀. This may seem small, but the walls dent and smudge so easily, something about the material. If you're worried about the homeless, there aren't any that are on this specific block, but the surrounding ones, so something to take note. I've never had any issues! No smart thermostat or switch capabilities, which was a huge down side for us since we loved our Nest. Other than that, I still love the location, the amenities, and our apartment size, view, etc, and would Still definitely recommend it!

Your San Diego apartment tour series has been so helpful as I am moving across the country to SD as well. I am currently looking at the area where Diega/The Rey is. After living there, how bad is the homeless population there? And as a woman, do you feel safe walking alone at night? Also, how safe do you feel leaving your car in the parking garage? Love your videos :)

Just saw your response to other commenters about homelessness. Thank you!
@EshiJay2 жыл бұрын
No problem at all! At the Diega, the doors are typically closed and you need a card to open it, so I don't fear the parking garages (more than the standard, being a woman alone lol). I think it's similar at the Rey. Walking alone at night as a woman always has its perils, especially in a city downtown. But you saw the other comments, so you know I don't mind it at all!

How do you keep the cats inside? Do you have to keep the patio door closed?
@EshiJay Жыл бұрын
Good question! We've trained them to not run outside if we open the door, but we keep a very close eye whenever it's open. They have tried us a couple times 😂. We do also put them in harnesses and leashes if they want to go on the balcony, again keeping a tight leash. I do know there are solutions to this if your cats aren't trained (pull out mesh dividers, etc).

hows the soundproofing in the unit? do you hear your neighbors?
@EshiJay Жыл бұрын
Pretty good! Funny enough, I think the vents have more sound proofing issues than the walls. But still, overall pretty good!

Rug under dining room table would actually make it look cosier and warmer. Then you dont need a long runner in the kitchen
@EshiJay2 жыл бұрын
That is true! Maybe it's just me but I have never been a big fan of a rug under a dining room table, I feel like way too much food and stuff would be getting on it, and cleaning would be so annoying.

Hey Eshi! Are you still likening your location? How bad is the homelessness right where you are?
@EshiJay2 жыл бұрын
I'm still loving it!! There are homeless living on the surrounding blocks. If you head towards Gaslamp, it's sparse but if you head towards east village, there's more. I haven't had any issues, and at the end of the day, they're people who need a place to live, but I always stay aware of my surroundings.
