You should buy the EZ Cutting mat for masking. It has laser etched grooves making it super easy to slice and dice your masking tape. I've been using it for a month now and it has sped up my masking 20 fold. Now I can't live without them. They are sold at newtype.

Oh wow. I just got my 1st 2 Gundam models last Friday. I broke a couple pieces on 1 of them because I didn't have snipers & I didn't even think about cutting higher on the sprues when I got wire cutters out. That would have been sooo much easier. Wish I had seen your video 1st & I'm only a minute & 22 seconds in. I've also gotta ask, I see you cutting everything out & them assembling. I'd get lost not getting them out by following directions. Do you do it by the design of the part or just know what's what by experience?
@Gunplaworkz
@Gunplaworkz 3 жыл бұрын
Congrats on your first couple of Gundam models , what u get ? sorry to broke some parts already . Yes pays to cut the parts off the runners first higher up away from the part then go back and cut them closer to the part later on this will make it easier not to cut into parts or break expensive plastic nippers . Ha ha yeah as I customize a lot of my gunpla I cut everything out first then assemble it all to fix up any seam lines etc . With experience it becomes easer to know where parts go but if you have a hard time doing this you can divide the kit into parts like left arm , right arm , left leg , right leg , torso etc and put them in separate containers to paint that way will make it easier to assemble later one
@jewabeus
@jewabeus 3 жыл бұрын
@@Gunplaworkz Thanks for the suggestions, especially the separate containers. I will keep that in mind. Being new, I never saw anything beyond the models. I don't know it there's an anime or manga about them. I just got the ones that looked good to me in Hobby Lobby. LOL I got #024 MS-06S ZAKU II (Red Comet Ver.) & #130 RGM-96X JESTA. I broke Jesta, a side piece on the front inside left leg cover & the right piece that covers the tops of both legs. I started to make it "battle damaged," but not being familiar with the models, it looked ok. I figure it's no issue to learn on my 1st time that it's okay to break stuff. It can be fixed. LOL Might as well get that out of the way. Seeing how you cut the pieces out would have helped with both pieces I broke. I know & have experience there now.

@@jewabeus Nice choices on kits for your first Gunpla . Yes there is an Anime and Manga the anime started back in 1979 . There is also a live action movie coming out with Netflix soon . Don't buy DSPIAE products, unless it's from someone you trust who has them in stock. I went through Dspiae's official site and internet store which sells through AliExpress. I created an account, and paid the sum required. The money was been taken from my card (the payment went to AliExpress Luxembourg), but I didn't receive a confirmation of my order. My Aliexpress account doesn't show the order either. So I contacted Dspiae who said "oh were so sorry, contact Aliexpress customer service." This is where the fun starts. It's a merry go round of pages that keep asking for my order number...but that's the point...there isn't one even though they've taken the money. There's an "account retrieval" service where you put in the some of the digits of your credit card and the price you paid. I tried it, and it says that my credit card has never been used on their site. My bank statement says otherwise! In short, after hours of surfing from one page to another you give up, and that's obviously what they want you to do. I should have know better than to deal with a site that has so many negative reviews, but I was trusting that Dspiae is a reputable company. How wrong that assumption was...but I hope whoever reads this won't make the same mistake.

@@Gunplaworkz Hi Gunplaworkz, I finally got sent a pair of nippers and they came directly from DSPIAE. I wrote to them a second time, and though they didn't reply, the nippers arrived some weeks later. It would seem they recognised my complaint, and decided to personally send the goods. Consequently my faith in DSPIAE as has been restored, and the nippers are great (but I never doubted this given the many positive reviews). However I still strongly advise against using AliExpress, and to buy from a store as per the ones you've suggested.

Hi Dave sorry for the late reply had not logged into this YT account for a while. Watch you channel with my normal account . Yeah I would personally say its worth it if you do lots of customization , scribe work or scratch building it can hold and angle parts in various positions and with the pegs can hold onto curved parts easy . For the price here in Australia is a lot cheaper then some of the Japanese model vices (like Mr Vice and other brands ) which don't seem as well made as this .

Yes agree my only complaint with this is the size but I guess handy for people travelling . Have mentioned to Dspaie they should make an XL size one . Been using it for about 3-4 weeks now painting infinity miniature and have to say that the porous of the paper and material is spot on the paints don't get as water logged as my homemade one over time . Will hopefully do a full review video on it in a few more weeks time to give me more time testing it out

@@Gunplaworkz Yes I think and XL one would seel the deal for me! I like the idea of the seperate water resevoir on the side, so it's easy to top up if the sponge is drying out and I don't think any other company has jumped on that yet though I could be wrong! So if you have any influence get them to double the size and I'm onboard :D
