Native NYC gal here who moved to CLE about 7 years ago. I'm not bored here, and I love that I don't have to think, wow, I'd like to go there or do that, BUT the what about the parking/length of the train ride/cost/crowds, etc. You can get an idea and just go do it. I love that freedom.

I really enjoyed your video - you covered a lot for being your first time there - beautiful day too! I've been to many cities in the U.S., & I think Cle has more to offer than most - 4 seasons, sports, 3 ski resorts, Lake Erie, Cuyahoga R. (which is a working industrial river - not just for tourists which makes it more interesting) + everything you mentioned in the vid - try to go to Edgewater Park & beach/Wendy Park on a good day - just beautiful - also Cle Metroparks is one of the largest urban park regions in the nation - has some of the nicest suburbs I've seen - & University Circle is a must - the Cle region is a great place to raise a family!

Cleveland is NOT in decline, and I do not appreciate your clickbait title. To address one of your comments, regarding the public transportation: the rail line is a very small part of the system. Cleveland has a very extensive bus system, in fact the 13th largest in the country.
@AtHomeAnywhere
@AtHomeAnywhere 10 күн бұрын
@@AK-ey2uy I would like to try the buses next time 🚍 😊 But I would say I haven’t been to a city in the USA that has public transit as good as cities in Asia or Europe. It’s something I wish they’d invest more money on. If there isn’t a train or bus coming every 5 to 10 minutes, it’s not really efficient.

He didn't realize that Lincoln was popular in Ohio? What?
@AtHomeAnywhere
@AtHomeAnywhere 11 күн бұрын
@@Bailark the only places I really associate Lincoln with are Kentucky (birthplace), Illinois(his professional working life) , Indiana, Washington DC (President), Gettysburg PA (famous speech and I grew up there haha 😂), and of course Chicago and New York City have some famous sites. Ohh…who can forget Mt Rushmore 😊. But I’m glad he had support in Ohio during his time as president and he did visit a few times.
@Bailark
@Bailark 11 күн бұрын
@@AtHomeAnywhere So many problems with this. It's hard to know where to begin. Yes, those are the places of his origin, but as a President of the United States, you can "associate" him with the entire country. As the President during the Civil War, you can "associate" him with the entire Union. His face is on the penny, and the $5 Dollar bill. His funeral train went across country and stopped for days in several places (Columbus Ohio being one). Kids dress up as him for pageants and Halloween. He is a figure of myth and legend. Ohio State University, (a land grant institution) (a Lincoln policy in case you didn't know), has a high rise dorm called Lincoln Tower. Most land grant colleges have at least one Lincoln Hall. Seriously, dude. Where are you from?

Cleveland is different. Locals consider the greater metropolitan area to be Cleveland. Not just Cleveland proper. Downtown Cleveland has never really been a population center so the areas you visited will not be crowded. Cleveland is home to the headquarters of quite a few fortune five hundred companies
@AtHomeAnywhere
@AtHomeAnywhere 14 күн бұрын
@@markjastrzebski2065 that makes sense about the downtown area not being crowded. I spend quite a bit of time in Asian and European cities which have more vibrant downtown areas than US cities. I used to work in downtown Cleveland in the 1970's near the Cleveland Public Library, really nice then. The Arcade on Superior is really a highlight!! The State theater is beautiful inside too. The Halle Brothers & Higbees were both beautiful department stores, sadly no more. Halles turned into apartments & Higbees is now a casino! I really don't go downtown Cleveland anymore. I worked in Cleveland for almost 25 years from 1980s on and my favorite lunch stop for a long time was in the Old Arcade building on Superior. There was another Arcade between Euclid and Prospect, but it was not as elaborate as the one on Superior. I tried to do all my exploring of Cleveland on my lunch hours and accomplished that with a lot of "extended" lunch hours. I was a dyed-in-the-wool East Sider, but did manage to get to the near West Side on occasion. I especially liked it when the planes were practicing for the annual air show. I could walk to the lake, look up at the jet, blink, and knew that that plane was probably now in Canada. One time one of this jets must have noticed me waving and managed to hover over me for a few seconds.
