What type of barrel would be best for a front holder? I'm using some cheap 24g Phil Taylor darts from Argos, and found it easier to throw from the front, what type of barrel would be better for a front holding thrower?

I have two sets Nathan aspinall black 24 gram and rvb echo 25 gram

My preferred weight is 25g. Have a set of Laserdart moveable point knurled Black Widows as well as a set of moveable point ringed Gold Widows. I have on order the Yaoyeah Dual Tungsten and the JMD 2.0 both in 25g. But I have explored with lighter darts with a set of Target Bolide Void 02 in 23g.

I've just noticed that bolide 05 and bolide void 05 both barrels are supposedly 44m but the void have alot more grooves between cone and smoother part barrel

I also not keen on idea of a bomb shaped but i have been looking for a grippy dart that tapers thick at front then thins towards the back and also cones /tapers on the nose to fit the swiss storm points

30mm is my go to same as you i like the swiss storm ,been a front to front/mid gripper 2 fingers and finger on point ive been looking at bolide and torn between the 1 or 5 ,id thought about 3 but didnt like that smooth part ,then i found the bolide 05 with snooth part further back so wouldnt effect me

Ha ha, I forgot all about this one until it just now showed up in my feed again! I did pick a set of these up, and they weren't anywhere even close to their advertised weight. Oh, well... No big deal. I got used to them just the same after a few minutes. My only real problem though, was as soon as I removed one of them from the barrel, I saw that the threads looked huge in comparison to what we're all accustomed to now. I didn't want to believe it, so I took the stem off of one of my current sets, and yeah, bummer. They had ¼" threads. I thought about taking them back, but I ultimately decide against that, because... Why? They're still worth their pricetag, and they're still fun to throw anyway. But wait, it gets better. I was there a couple weeks later thumbing through them again, looking for one with 2ba threads, but they all had that tell-tale fatter part at the rear of the barrel. Then the soft tip version caught my eye, and whadaya know?... 2ba threads on all the soft tip versions. I just had to. Yeah, I know, I bought a set of darts just to toss the barrels and keep the stems. Still a great deal anyway. Every now and then, I still take them out and thread them into something for a few throws, and yeah, I still kinda them. They're a LOT more durable than the ones that other manufacturers have been throwing into the box since the beginning of time with a new board. I think I have like six or eight sets of those hidden around somewhere that have never been thrown, so maybe I'll try to look for them tomorrow evening, time permitting, of course.
