It has been noted that if evil has a purpose - and if we can see through this purpose - it is not true evil anymore. I hence think the idea that evil must be "mysterious" to trigger certain responses in us - especially the state of total despair - is true. As to what total despair is good for - we might see that the way our minds change and how the minds of other change to mechanical. It might be that for some people to unlock empathy they must not just see someone in pain but in great pain. Without emapthy love is not possible.

Ornament and Crime is an extremely racist essay . It tries to put peoples into a hierarchy where the indigenous people's who ornament their skin and personal belongings are deemed inferior to those who don't (i.e. "modern" Europeans). Also, Loos was trialed for molestation in 1905 and 1928. He was a real piece of garbage. That his idiotic essay continues to influence our architecture today is the true "crime."

How would the practical contradiction apply to violence? For example with the maxim "i will invade a country to get resources" or "I will kill people I hate to bring peace of mind"

I had a quick question over the difference between Kant and Hegel's difference of artnature ?
@philjenkins1292 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your good question Hannah Drum! Both wrote extensively on art and nature, so I encourage you to read Kant's Critique of Judgment, and Hegel's Aesthetics: Lectures on Fine Art.
