Perhaps I'm misunderstanding Ms. Neuman's use of the word context, but having visited the 'Old Croghan Man' exhibition in NMI, and having personally worked on the design of the 'Soap Lady' display in the Mütter Museum, I can attest that every effort has been made to contextualise these remains by elaborating on their scientific, historic, cultural, and educational significance, as well as creating physically enclosed/separated spaces to display them in. Seemingly these exhibitions have been taken out of context in their inclusion in this presentation...

Great talk, the data and counter narratives or affirmation of existing narratives was helpful to put our trajectory/current time in perspective! I am glad the realities of historic (and systemic) racism faced by African Americans was explicty named during this book talk. It gave me hope for our next potential American Upswing!

While I am sure that the sensationalist talking heads on right-wing radio and blogs and their ilk will never seek out the full source beyond the soundbite provided by the shepherd, I figure this is as good a spot as any to refute the rumors going around the Internet. Some slanted sources around the Internet are taking comments made by Warren during this speaking event and exaggerating them in an attempt to smear her. At 48:30 in the video, an audience member posed concerns over the possibility of the Jews of Israel committing similar ethnic cleansing against others, as was perpetrated against them, to which Warren responded, “That’s fair”. The talking heads are running with this in an attempt to characterize Warren as someone who contrasts the State of Israel with Nazi Germany. That is a blatantly unfair characterization and misinterpretation of that two-word response. Rational people who are against genocide, especially those who have witnessed it, should be concerned over the potential for genocide in the region. Militarily Israel is more than capable of wiping every Palestinian off the face of the earth and they have not done so. The Nazis sure as shit would have. Warren supports a two state solution, a peaceful resolution and the right of self-defense for both sides. In my opinion, that is not a controversial stance. Warren more than establishes her position throughout her speaking at Tisch.
