Excellent. I never thought about applying the raps to the punty in-line with the water droplets. Keep the videos coming. As a self taught (mostly) glass blower, you and other contributors are about all I’ve got.

I went for my first lesson in glassmaking on Mother’s Day. My teacher was amazing! My next lesson is blowing glass (I made some pretty awesome paperweights the first time). I hope he is as thorough and as soothing as you. I’m really starting to understand the process and my grandfather was a glassblower in the 1940s in NYC. It makes me feel connected. Thank you for this video. It was tremendous.

Amazing video! On Mother’s Day I had my first lesson in glassmaking. My teacher was so detailed and I felt I picked it up right away. It’s an amazing process. My Grandfather was a glassblower in the 1940s NYC. I have a glass straw he blew and a shot glass. To actually do what he did was very moving. It truly is an art.

I took a semester-long glass class but they only let us do solid in the hot shop. Could you make a video on blowing air into the pipes or beginner things to make with air?

Yes. I plan to do a lot more videos this summer when I have more time.

It's really interesting seeing how different and similar making a glass vase is to a ceramic one.

Is there any annealing involved after you bend the cane?
@tonyglassart101210 ай бұрын
No, not at all. If it’s going to go through thermal shock, it will happen when you try to go for the bend or when you cut it off.

Question. Wouldn’t a closed bottom optic mold be easier to use in this situation than a open bottom?
@tonyglassart101211 ай бұрын
Yes, you are correct. You wouldn’t have to cut the bottom off, you could just blow it up.
@mdbryan952511 ай бұрын
@@tonyglassart1012 I’ve actually tried to think of a situation where the open bottom would be preferable. I can’t think of one.

@tonyglassart1012 Жыл бұрын
There’s a bit that goes into a handrail that you can attach a cookie to for the post. It’s pretty easy to fab up if you have a welder, but if you don’t have one, you can get it from Olympic Colorado. I never use the drill though. I’ve seen some sketchy shit go down.
