One thing you can do for the hit detection on the axe is a line cast between previous and current position, this way you can integrate velocity of attack by seeing how much it’s changed, and scale the damage based on that

damn cool. There is a problem with every solo dev game I see (im not a game dev, just viewer feedback) Level atmosphere is never present. What i mean by that is kinda like atmospheric fog and depth of field generated by lighting and the like. It always makes the games feel like they are in this space with absolutely no air or atmosphere. If you do intend on making a longer length game out of this project which is a sick project and idea, I'd suggest taking on atmosphere as a challenge to overcome. once you get a good feel for it I think you will find it much easier to implement in future projects.

0:22 I'm not even 30 seconds in and I'm already loving this 20:07 also one idea I thought of immediately was this: since your weapons all have a unique color, why not make the weak points light up in correspondence to the weapons? This way you'd have a reason to use every weapon in your arsenal because some enemies can only be killed with a specific weapon. And of course you could use a color that doesn't match any of the weapons to indicate that any weapon will suffice. That's just my idea though

I really don't want to be that guy, but here is what I find to be the problem here, I really don't see the point of making a game without building a solid foundation for it to rest upon, the original unity bean styled character could have served till the whole game design aspect of the project was fully planned out, which will make things easier down the road when time is put into making actual art and sound assets for the game. will it result in a video with lots of views, most likely not, but I feel that's a lot better than having a lot of people that seemed genuinely interested in how the project was going and wanted to see it reach a point where their commitment felt worthwhile within a few weeks it would have been clear if the idea will work or not, so I hope in the future your projects will go through the time in the prototyping phase, so we can all be feel really good that our support helped make a good game exist
