I'm guessing Cliff Gallup had a big influence on George Harrison and his lead playing. I can hear alot of Harrison-like riffs in what Gallup was playing.

Average cover, he's got the look but not the sound, he was never going to outdo Gene Vincent with a lukewarm imitation

Vince had the delusion that if he had turned up on time for an interview back in the day he would have been chosen to be the main man in rock and roll instead of Elvis . As he put it , "I should have been Elvis" . I was there when he said it .

This is probably how the Beatles imagined/hoped they came across but, they were too classy and talented, to be in the 'raw' category.

Brian Maurice Holden (1939-91), best known for 1959's "Brand New Cadillac", was inspiration for Bowie's Ziggy Stardust. Opened for Rolling Stones Easter weekend 1965 at Olympia in Paris. Had alcohol/drug issues, quit music in 70's, got religion. Married, had son & stepdaughter. Moved to Switzerland & became an aircraft mechanic, dying from lung cancer 1991, aged 52.
