@@bummered7277 ok to be fair i last played osu a few years ago so it might work a bit better now, but iirc downloading maps for spectating if you didn't have the paid supporter thing was a massive pain in the ass. you would click spectate, it would do nothing, you'd have to go look up the map, download and import it, very annoying

I rarely spectate others except for people I’m familiar with. It’s not that I don’t know spectating exists. It just feels awkward to watch someone play, what if they don't like strangers watching them playing? It doesn't help that I am an introvert too. I guess back in the earlier days, when the playerbase was smaller and streaming wasn’t as prevalent. Spectating was much more common, as it was one of the few ways to get to know a player. A smaller community also made it easier to remember each player you encountered. Everyone just feels like your neighbour during those times :D
