Im fairly impressed with the bburago because they seemed to give it love and tried hard enough. But as u said lacks detail, well its against a car that cost 100 more its no match but good to start a racing collection in my opinion. Their 1/18 stuff is pretty solid. I think they got a few f1s, but brands tries or retries to develop different scales and at times it can be pretty poor especially at the beginning. Spark totally screwed up one of their newer releases as seeing it on a facebook group. The argo jm19 from le mans 1988, the wing is comically oversized in height and ruins it completely, happens even to the bests.

This is very much a lopsided battle.

BBurgaro is probably better value for money. The outer box is also really nice for such an inexpensive model. At that price point there is sometimes just a blister pack. That said I would still prefer to get the Looksmart and maybe buy a lesser number of models. The details is what makes a good model great.

I think Burago is very good but looksmart is much better.

altaya is even superior than bburago

Knowing that a Bburago costs 25€ and that a Looksmart costs 120€, I think that the Bburago is far better in terms of price/quality.

Last year i would have told you its too much, but now that i got a initial d ignition model for more than 400🥲.. i dont know if it was a clever idea, it probably wasn't and almost ashamed to say it. I just know i dont regret it nor any of my model purchases ever, great review regardless

Despite being not good. I can't tell its ugly, its different. The same can be said about a lot of cars i collect, giving love and variety to all kind of stuff, never was a fan of the classic race winners collectors im nobody to speak on that, just my taste. U should see the marussia b2, it was driveable in a few videogames 10 years ago. Its an interesting car for an obscure no-name brand.

Amazing model i’ve got this exact spark 1:43 scale Lando Norris one too it’s a beauty I’ve bought the missing vuse decals on eBay for this model and with the decals applied to it, it looks even greater it looks more complete too but without the decals it already looks amazing. I’m always going for spark I just love how it gets presented with the wooden base and the slip case and then i’ve not even talken about the quality of the spark models themselfs it’s the best quality for the price. And I will always go with Spark.

I have two McLaren F1 mp4/23s from Minichamps and the Panini F1 collection. From a distance you can't really tell the difference at 1/43 scale. Apart from the owner, who's looking that close?

Love that HPI..removable cowling is awesome at that size. I have some HPI in 1/18th and by far the tops but sadly no longer as you pointed out. Would love to see Spark make the FIA GT car in 1/18, different livery, and small aero differences around the font wheel arch. Funny you mention the prices coming from Japanese retailers. I noticed the same in 1/18th. Exorbitant prices in cars I can find at msrp if I search enough. The Porsche GT1-98 is one of my all time favorite sports cars so great to see you video on the car. I was too lazy to get my video out yesterday but will be similar genre. Happy Holidays

I would say that given you have both an HPI and a Spark version, which cover the FIA GT1 series and Le Mans, it's not really worth keeping the Onyx models unless you're really attached to them. I have to be a bit of a contrarian to note that the Minichamps whilst missing an aerial (I have the #25 Minichamps version), is a far superior model to the Onyx version. I previously had an Onyx model and had no hesitation in swapping it for a Minichamps when one became available (for about £30 here). It's certainly not as good as the Spark or HPI models but it's closer to those than it is to the Onyx. It's odd in this instance that the Minichamps 911 GT1 is missing aerials as I have quite a number of their models where the aerial is correctly in place. If you do see a Minichamps 'Evolution' model available, these are pretty much Spark quality resin models. In terms of Japan, the extreme cost is typically through eBay and if you can find the right places, it can actually be quite cost effective to purchase from there. You have to go through auction sites typically or I've also found a good shop called Boost Gear.

Festive holidays Mark! my oldest displayed is a Maisto Zakspeed 911 GT1 in the 18 scale, and i have the works in 43 scale, the 25 from minichamps and the 26 from some unknown brand I don't even recall. I'm out for a Spark test version of the 98 as i've had the pleasure of seeing that in RL this year.

I have two 1998 Le Mans winner’s, a 1:18 Spark version ( the first one) and the 1:43 HPI version which as you say is incredibly detailed … but that rear wing is a pain as it really doesn’t fit correctly and keeps falling off which is a shame for such a detailed model.

Great review. I didn't glue the rear spoiler on my HPI, hence it is sat, inaccessibly, at the front of my display case with a wonky rear spoiler! 😂 HPI is surely Japanese?

the Porsche gt3s are inaccurate

Btw, this is also a V12 LM, not a LMR, the LMR was the full-factory white car, the LM was the 1998 and customer 1999 car, but the 1999 version used the design of the LMR and it's easy to find the differences between the LM from 1998 and the LM from 1999, but it's not as easy to find them between the LMR and the LM from 1999

Bburago also released a 963, it's very good, it's not as good as the Ferraris of the Signature Series but it's great. I also have the Jota 963 that you have, but mine is from the Spark LM collection and not from the Porsche Dealer.

Color combination reminds me of these soda candies. I saw it several times on ebay and thought it was one of the most original, great job of spark on the presentation. The all painted rear part is neat, i recall not seeing many 720s gt3 with that particularity.
