This is from a time when relatively few people knew who Jaco was, Mick probably heard someone call him "Yaco" and went with it.... people used to call INXS inks

This came from the album Big World, which I not only believe is Joe Jackson's best album, But very possibly the best album of the 1980s.

After more than 36 years still one of the mosy beautifull things a person can do, performing without any technical help, a self made masterpierce live on tv and enjoying playing it;. Still my hero for more than 40 years

Light-years ahead of the game, such a pity and a young guy on lead, and a keyboard player a certain R,B.Went on to be part of a phenomena- called P/T.But Mick Karn`s bass playing is massive, and Mr Jansen`s Drumming is world class ,need`s to be re-released and in 5.1.

Interesting that he cringed when hearing the word pop for his bass playing. His work was in that realm. Pop is an energy that many people cling to. It’s a trend that draws people in. Unfortunately the industry has capitalized on that and made monsters. David Sylvian knows his roots remain in the pop vein per an interview he recently gave.

David Silvian..not his real name btw..seems to be the epitome of someone who fancied himself to be a pop star but pretended not to want to be one as it was too popular or trendy. I knew local wannabe musician pple who acted the same way..but of course it became a trillion dollar industry of millionaires.

@@michaelg6641 yes Mr Batt of course. I’m curious the people you’re speaking of. I have run into people at shows and they gave off ego rock star vibes. I never understood that. I’ve talked shop with others that enjoy the camaraderie.

Nice performance as always. No Graham! The host is David Brenner; I vaguely remember the show. He was TV's most frequent talk show guest thru the '80s, and probably also a guest host, so I had to look it up: [Wikipedia] In 1986, King World Entertainment gave Brenner his own 30-minute syndicated late-night talk show, Nightlife, in an attempt to compete with Carson, but it was cancelled after one season. The show premiered September 8, 1986, on 102 stations[12] and was touted as "alternative".

Roland _IS_ looking *fantastic* here & really into performing. He never needed Curt & I was honestly disappointed when he got back together with him. However, Roland is like Dave Gilmour in that he needs others around him simply as psychological motivators I guess, without which, he doesn't get down & get to work writing. He plays well with others. The lefty on guitar was Alan Griffiths who sadly passed away in 2017 only at age 57.
