I recently discovered your work when I learned of about digital pinhole photography and have become deeply interested in this type of photography. Your work is amazing and inspiring to me. Thank you for sharing with us. I’m so thankful, that from what I’ve seen/learned about your work (I’ve read many of your blog posts), pinhole photography has been deeply meaningful and expressive to you. Thank you for sharing your gift with us. I really appreciated this video you created. I loved your beautiful work combined with your spoken words about differences between childhood innocence and adulthood and the inspiration to revive some of that childhood innocence as adults. It was very meaningful and toughing to me. Thank you!

Thank you very much, Amanda. It’s very gratifying when someone interprets my work in the way you did. Because these projects are so personal, I just put them out there not really expecting any kind of response. I have had your reaction to other people’s work over the years so I know what it feels like. I don’t know if you saw the article I wrote about my pinhole process for an online magazine called FujiLove. If you haven’t, you can find it here: fujilove.com/author/steven-dempsey/

Nice. Are you pleased with the results of the iPhone 15 Pro max yourself Steven? I've a standard iPhone 13, I held back from getting a 15 pro max because I'm not filming enough atm, but I'm still considering getting one sometime soon. If I holdback too long, I'll wait for the 16 something I guess, a release date in late spring would suit me better, that's when I start to go out more and film. Ecuador looks enticing, I bet you enjoyed your trip, cheers for bringing us along Steven.

Thank you. The 15 Pro Max is a total game-changer for me. I don’t bring my big camera along with me unless I need to shoot a lot of photos and video. The quality of the footage is the best I’ve ever seen from a smartphone. Everything I’m shooting is in LOG. Having the 5x lens is also equivalent to the maximum zoom on my larger camera so I find it extremely useful. Overall, this phone has changed everything I do creatively.

Thank you for this "to the point" tutorial. I am now using Affinity 2 for the ipad and needed to refresh my skills. Oddly, enough, I moved away from photography for a minute to pursue other hobbies. I am back to pursuing photography and needed this. Thanks again.

Thanks for taking the time to make these videos. I find them very helpful. And only (from what I can see) are there minor differences when working with Affinity Photo 2.

Definitely want to learn how to use Affinity Photo, bought it yesterday. I know Lightroom but want to get rid of it as I disagree with their subscription model.

How long did that one take Steven? I've done a few things on my iPad 10.2 but nothing that took longer than an hour. I took off the mat screen protector ( a cheaper version of paperlike ) as it made my screen less enjoyable using my ipad for other stuff. I use Procreate. You seemed to have mastered it.
@StevenDempseyArtist2 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I’d say this one took me between 4-5 hours. I don’t remember exactly.

To be perfectly honest, when it comes to this type of software, I really do believe you need someone sitting by your side to instruct you all the way, like in the old days before all this video tutorial dribble. I'm only middle aged, but I'm slow to learn things and these videos just don't help. I'm uninstalling this software and going back to Snapseed as it is far easier to use. Affinity Photo is just too complicated for me.
@StevenDempseyArtist2 жыл бұрын
You sound frustrated and I’m sorry about that. However, I am not paid by nor have any association with Serif, the maker of Affinity Photo. I do this on my own time for free in the hope of helping people and, based on other comments, they seem to be getting something out of it. I’m not sure why you feel like you have to vent to me. I certainly don’t regard my teaching as “dribble”. If you have an issue with the software, please take it up with the company. While you are right that this software is more advanced than some of the more basic apps out there, I did not promise it was easy. I respectfully wish you well in your hunt for something more suited to your needs.
@SteSeed2 жыл бұрын
Obviously I'm just as thick as two short planks. I just don't understand how to complete the most basic of tasks with the software, it's beyond me completely. I didn't mean any offence, like you said I am frustrated to hell with it. I'm giving up with it. I see lots of people making amazing photos with it, but obviously it's not for me, I'm too thick. No offence once again. Happy editing.
