This is another great one from Carll. First saw him on Austin City Limits bout 15 years ago. Hooked ever since.

We do a lot of shows but a friend gave us tix to one where Hayes opened. He sung this song after telling the story of he and his G Paw driving in Waco at 12 yrs old. Been dealing a lot with this for a few years and its still goin. Felt like he was singin the song just for us.

Lost my mommy to Dementia. She's still alive but has no idea who I am. My heart was tore from my chest the night she looked at me and said, "When did your mom pass away? I thought I heard someone say your mother passed away. I'm so sorry." I just looked at her and said, "Yes, she passed away a couple years ago." I miss my mom. I just want her to hold me again. Talk to me. Spend time with those you love people! That's all I have to say. I'm so glad I spent so much time with my parents. I'm now taking care of my daddy. 96 years old. I came to stay with him when we put my mom in a memory care facility. It's been a journey. But I don't regret it.

This is the best flipping love song I've heard in my 79 years. Most "love" songs are really about lust and the desire to "get it on". My dear, departed wife was full of anger. I tried to talk her out of it for 20 years. I finally recognized the anger was part of the package and silently vowed to accept it. The miracle was in less than 3 months she figured it out and our marriage began trending upwards. That continued until cancer intervened way to soon. By the way, I fully believe Hayes captured Guy Clark's spirit as he sped up ward to his reward. This song and 'Help Me Remember' convinced me of of this.

The last new song I heard by Hayes was Help Me Remember and it was one of the best songs I have ever heard. This one was a disappointment and someone, a producer, Hayes, Record Label, made a bad decision to cut it and put it out. I'm sure he has a lot of better songs in a notebook or scraps of paper written down somewhere and I look forward to hearing those. I've been a fan since he was a one man show traveling Texas in a van that broke down as much as it would run and I will always be a fan but this one was a swing and a miss.

I was Uber driving, and picked up Hayes and Allison on 30A, and told them about my painting classes for Altheimer's and dementia patients, which is why I was Ubering. Just to get by. This song came out not long after. I hope that maybe I inspired this song for hayes, but who knows I guess

Hayes, i’ve loved your music for a long time, but I have to tell you and Allison - I. was. blown. away. starting at 44.30, through 57.15. Thank you. I just started seeing again my childhood sweetheart, after 40 years. And I kick my ass around the block every day for not staying with her. Fast-forward. She has an autistic child. He’s 25 years old now but he was nonverbal till he was eight. I just met him two months ago. And I’m so impressed. He’s one hell of an awesome guy. Allison I’ve ordered your book and I’m gonna read it and I hope it be able to share it with my new girl . Thank you so much.
