Hayes Carll is Gold, the more you dig the more you find.

We're coming around the bend again where this song everyone should know the words to. Living in Austin, I've been lucky to see Hayes many times over the last years. Hayes, if you're out there, great song and keep doing what you do. I was lucky to get your ACL taping poster on Billy Perkins site which is a beaut. See you again in our around our great city.

This video is great! Like something out of the 90's. Hayes Carll should get so much more attention than any "country" artist today.

Love this new song and video! My husband and I live in Louisiana and love your music! We only discovered you in the last year or so via Pandora-looked for someone we knew and liked and discovered you there, too. What goes for country on the radio these days .....at least here is pop music with a slightly Southern drawl, at best. I guess a lot of young people like it or people that aren’t fond of country music, ironically(?). We have Cajun music here but we don’t care for it. Somehow we have Texas in our blood!😉 I guess crossover hits ($$$) are to blame and homogenous music genres as a result. ...kind of like the fast disappearing Southern accent(s) but that’s another story! I’m definitely not losing mine!

In times like these everyone could use a hand Instead we stand around losing ground Fighting for the promised land It's so hard to tell if this is heaven or hell And I could never measure by degrees But it's sure gettin' warm 'round here in times like these In times like these do I really need a billionaire Just takin' all my time tryin' to tell me I was treated unfair? Well then I got to pay, it's the home of the brave Gets divided into them and the weak Oh I find I'm a-losing my mind in times like these [Chorus 1] Yeah they come and they go They're in and then out Every day I'm getting better at losing something I haven't got I just wanna do my labor, love my girl, and help my neighbor While I keep a little hope for my dreams But it's sure getting hard, brother, in times like these [Verse 2] In times like these I wish someone was on my side Instead of bringing it together we're just widening the great divide I hope and I pray at the end of the day I can somehow get my troubles to ease But I gotta say, it's not looking good, not in times like these [Chorus 2] Yeah they come and they go They're cold then they're hot I just try to keep the world from turning me to something I'm not I'm gonna try to run until the whole thing's done And I just hope I don't end up on my knees But it's sure getting hard to stand up in times like these [Outro] I just wanna do my labor, love my girl, and help my neighbor While I'm keeping all my joie de vivre But it's sure getting hard, brother, in times like these I could use just a little bit of help in times like these

I agree, I bill myself has Hayes oldest groupie, I like the album but there is something different going on. Have seen him live many times, including the night this video was made at Coupland Hall, There just seems to be a guitar in there I'm not crazy about.
