This was an excellent video to watch, and the Georgia Traverse is an amazing Traverse route to ride. I’ve done this route a few times myself but each time was alone, one day I’ll have the opportunity to ride with a group but until then I’ll keep riding and enjoying the videos you guys post. Thanks again for an awesome video.👍

The old girl is a 2017 Rubicon Recon edition. She had 43K on her when I bought her in late July 2021, and presently has 178k on her. She had the pentastar tick which was repaired under powertrain warranty, right before the warranty expired. Other than that the only other issue I've had is the electronic sway bar disconnect system shorting out because of water intrusion.

From my understanding when talking to Little River Canyon, overnight camping is not allowed on the backcountry roads for the foreseeable future and has not been since at least 2023 when I asked about it. If you didn't overnight camp, this is not overlanding, this is trail riding. Please update the title of your video to reflect activities performed because people are searching for actual Overlanding, which involves camping, in north Alabama.
@DefiantOffroad17 күн бұрын
How do you know that this wasn't part of a trip that involved camping at another location? Am I required to camp at the location that I filmed the video, in order to meet your stringent requirements for how I title my videos?

I'm dyin' here. This MFer thinks you can't say "overland" if you don't show yourself camping in the video. Does he also lose points for not making coffee on camera and cooking a full meal in a skottle?

I believe the reason why i have seen so many rubicons for sale with very low mileage is due to the shifting of lockers..hard to engage and release. Found out that the jk rubicon wont allow locker action in all gears except 4 low....no thanks...get way more control with an old 4runner i can engage at any speed if i choose
@DefiantOffroad21 күн бұрын
I'm not sure of the purpose of your comment, as this is an instructional video on how to operate the 4WD system, not a review video. I'll address your remarks though. The e-lockers are engaged and disengaged with the push of a button. It doesn't get any easier than that. If the usage of lockers out of 4lo is important to you, it's easy to accomplish by installing the JScan app on your phone. I have the ability to engage my lockers in all modes of travel, thanks to JScan. Never once have I felt the need to engage them out of 4low. Based upon your comments, then I would most certainly agree with you that this is not the vehicle for you.

That was super awesome that you stopped what you were doing and shut down filming to help someone out. Most youtubers would have stuck their camera in the person's face and tried to "make a story" out of it.
@DefiantOffroad27 күн бұрын
It's funny that you say that. A friend of mine told me that that is exactly what I should have done, because it "would have made for a good story". Sometimes you just have to stop worrying about views and "storytelling" and just be a decent person. The guy was having a bad day, and was eternally grateful that I got him (and his bike) off the mountain and back to his car.

Hello there! Great video review on this RTT. Not having a hard-shell on the bottom are you having any issues with mattress condensation and getting the bottom fabrics very wet? Thank you for your time!
@DefiantOffroad27 күн бұрын
Hey there! No issue at all with condensation under the mattress. I camped at Overland Expo East a few weeks ago and it got fairly chilly the last night, with high humidity and some fog. That resulted in some minor condensation inside the tent, but under the mattress didn't appear to get any. At this point I've probably got about 15-16 nights in the tent and I still love it!

Us hunters have enjoyed this land for decades. Some of us have hunted from the same campsites for 30 years and longer. The majority of the hunters know each other and maintain their campsites. We take pride in keeping them clean. Thank you for picking up the trash you saw along the route. Please note cell signal is beyond sparse. Game wardens do travel the roads. You must have a National Forest permit to camp. You will be ticketed if you dont. Be extremely cautious and keep your speeds slow. The euro motorcycles fly on this road . One layed his bike down in front of my truck when he came around a switch back and met me head on. Please respect this land and preserve it for future generations.
@DefiantOffroadАй бұрын
I try to clean up at least a little bit on every trail and/or campsite that I hit. Some places are almost spotless, and others can be almost overwhelming with the amount of trash. Regardless if you're a hunter, overlander, off-roader, hiker, etc. If every chips in just a little bit, it makes a huge difference!

Just added another trail to the to-do list. Thanks! How does this trail compare to Peter's Mill Run? Looks to be pretty similar.
@DefiantOffroadАй бұрын
Big Levels is markedly more challenging than Peters Mill. Peters Mill is little more than a gravel road that happens to get really bumpy in spots. Big Levels will require 4 wheel drive, and depending on recent rainfall, can get particularly spicy at the water pits. When we shot this video, the water levels happened to be really low. The trail also has some pretty decent campsites as you get closer to the parkway.
