I did an integrated masters and even at the end of my 4 year course I didn't have a clue what I wanted to do. Wasn't until I started working and after leaving my first post grad job and starting my second that I found a career path that I enjoyed and got satisfaction from. For some people it takes even longer. The main thing is that life is not a straight path and you should never feel like you're stuck in a tunnel towards one destiny or career. There's a lot of different options out there at any age so do what feels right for you, not what you think you are expected to be doing. Hope everyone has a wonderful festive period

Pretty late to the party but two things - Fetch The Bolt Cutters was such a fantastic release (not to mention the others). Fiona is brilliant in general. For myself, I segue from artist to artist and genre to genre lots when it comes to my favourites. At the minute it’s lots of the new Bon Iver EP and the latest Adrianne Lenker in the folky direction, Honeyglaze and Moin in the more post punky / art rock/ experimental direction and Julian Lage in the jazzy ballpark.

Some part of me knew the UK treated the postsecondary experience with (for lack of better phrasing) a tighter sphincter than the rest of us. You've just confirmed it. Sorry to hear your classmates are "posh". We know what that's code for. However, getting uni pushed upon you by family members in spite of your own desires happens everywhere. Not every person is cut out for the academic life, but most families don't care. I hated the process of applying to Sheridan. I hated the letdown of leaving Sheridan without a diploma. But Sheridan itself was very nice and the routine of attending courses was addictive. Being away from home is what makes all the difference. No one is ready, even if they claim they are, but that's not the point. Why judge each other on the impossible task of preparing when you can instead judge each other on the handling of the lunacy once you're out there? Anyone who says "the best friends you make are the ones in college" are both right and wrong. Making friends is easy. Keeping them is a two-way street of personal investment that requires decades of work long after the diploma (or lack thereof). My last thought on the matter is that bars are overrated. Wait for a classmate to host drinks at their flat. It cuts down the likelihood of being screwed over by strangers, rather than people you can track down the next day in revenge.

You are very wise. Im 23 now and started college doing Civil Engineering back in 2020 when I was 17. I loved it, but the maths was the hardest out of any course, and Im no use at maths. Im now on my last year of a Carpentry apprenticeship, which I thoroughly enjoy.

enjoy university no matter what. Enjoy your freedom to choose. Don't fret. It'll be fine and it can be wonderful. Be as free as you can, there won't be many times like this. You seem great, people can f*ck off and if university is not your thing then start something else just don't freeze. Live. About your books video, it was really a classic. I'd say try Primo Levi, the fiction work. It's italian but I bet you can find good translations.

1. Yes, it’s really annoying when people roll their eyes at liking a popular or most well known song by an artist. 2. ‘Feels like Home’ by Nora Jones is an absolute masterpiece. Nice to hear that someone else appreciates that album. 3. You mentioned ‘Tidal’ by Fiona Apple a couple of times. I always liked ‘The First Taste’ from that album. 4. You ever listened to the song ‘Supper’s Ready’ by Genesis? 5. You have a great voice for ASMR. I always enjoyed going through peoples record/CD collections and getting an overview of someone’s musical tastes. The rise of digital music means people don’t always have collections to browse through nowadays, so a video like this is a great idea for that. Thanks!

I absolutely love Joni Mitchell. Both sides now is definitely one of my favourites by her and is one of my favourite songs of all time. Joni Mitchell’s album titled “ Blue “ is my favourite album by her. It has “ case of you “ on it. You really didn’t need to apologise at the end.
