Ironically enough the term Soccer is an English invention deriving from the term "association football" to differentiate it from Rugby in the late 1880's. I mean after all no one seems to care that the Italians call it "calcio".

Tye original football us rugby football. All other games is a variation of rugby. British students called a variation or rugby football, association football or "assoccer". America to th AS off and kept "soccer". So you have rugby, and soccer. America created a different gamed based off of rugby football, much like soccer. We just called this last variation football to avoid confusion. Technically rugby, soccer and football are all football. Origination from "rugby football."

It´s so easy why it´s called soccer: because players use socs on the sport! SOC-KER! XD - joke aside, I won´t even watch american football even if payed as it´s almost as boring as watching golf. Even tennis is boring to me. Soccer is a horrible word for Football. And Football is way more exciting to watch. I do hate the violence in it though. Measures should be very strict so there aren´t as many faults.

is not about hosting however many international games in the US or signing big names, is about changing some of the rules, for instance, penalty kicks during the match should be remove, draw match should be remove, physical contact should be allow more instead of right straight to yellow card, red card must be given to players falling on the ground act crying when he is barely getting contact. football is not an easy sport to play especially when substitution is limited, and lots of skill is required, is some of the rules need to be change.

Here in Colombia we don't make fun of our kids for playing futbol. We also don't limit them to play almost exclusively during school PE. We have tournaments for kid teams. Our kids play with other kids, with teens, adults, boys and girls, at any place that has enough space, not just dedicated fields, of which we have more than enough. Also we have to deal with Argentina and Brazil all the time instead of mexico.
