I don't know where, but I saw him saying that his mom, dad, uncle... they all had a piano, and they would play together. And when he was three, they gave him a smaller piano to play with them. He said that he just hammered the piano, making noises at that time. Genius!

Sad.....the piano was not mic'd properly, such that the piano sound is mushy and barely heard above the orchestra.

It is very rare to see Martha in a solo concert. It is a truly spectacular performance, probably the "best" one can hear to date, regardless of the sound quality. Of course, there is no accounting for taste. I think that when timing is the most important aspect of the piece, there is no point of comparison between Argerich and other post-war pianists. For example, when listening to the Danzas Argentinas you can see this. In particular, I feel that many performers play it as if it were a Chopin piece.

As a pianist I've yet to find another pianist who can explain how Horowitz plays that opening theme. I doubt that even Horowitz understands - it's live performance, where magic happens. And in this case, the magic continues all the way through.

In my opinion, this is divinely inspired by The Almighty. If one cannot see this, even without sight, makes me think evil is perhaps born that way. Our warnings have been many.

Merci, Pedro pour ce montage de moments si sensibles qui nous donnent une très grande émotion. Vers la minute 14 et surtout à 17 minutes quel est le morceau musical que Martha joue?

Great performance, although in 12th minute he made a number of "clunkers" which are clearly audible. Some notes were missed in the super fast piano solo part that he is playing in that minute.
