AMCA is best suited for DEAD or SEAD operations apart from interdiction of enemy 5th gen fighters. Hence, once air supremacy or at least superiority is established over Pakistan or say Tibet/East Turkestan in case of China, deploying 4.5 gen fighters becomes more cost effective than deploying AMCA for CAS or other roles for supporting advancing ground troops. Hence, ORCA, the proposed air force variant of TEDBF will still be relevant in the late 2030's. Investing in the development of ORCA is far better than inducting advance variants of Rafale in the late 2030's.

I am still baffled that people still think Pakistan can have 5th generation fighter Like seriously the big reason even the countries like US is having large number of upgraded F-18 and not large number of F-22 and F-35 is simply because of cost. Like the helmet of F-35 alone is 10 million. And that's the cost of helmet. I didn't even include the electronics, stealth abrasive coating, engine and much more. Even if China lower the cost the half, Pakistan cannot have it because of sheer amount of cost in buying and more sheer amount of cost in maintenance. Stealth abrasive coating, supercruise jet engine, advanced search and tracking system and much more. Cost is a massive factor which is why countries are straight up going to 6th gen that is equipped with drone team system with large amounts of upgraded 4th gen fighters. Pakistan economy is not that big to have 5th gen. Turkey, China, USA, Russia, India etc is different. They have money. I am tired of selling fear mongering that Pakistan will have 5th gen. They don't have the economy in trillions. China on the other hand is different. They have larger economy and military so deploying 5th gen at there makes sense

I think we should join Su-75 program and rejoin Su-57 program. The knowledge we can get is irreplaceable. It is especially required when a manufacturing giant like China can churn out thousands of fighters every year. It won’t hurt to run limited number of these foreign platforms while gradually improving our own fighter and ramping up production. We can also set up factories for the Su-57/75 and make for our own. In these tense times we HAVE to increase our budget. Strong armies and secure borders helps us to focus internally. Ghar ka na ghaat ka situation me hai India.

You dont become self reliant by staying in money saving mode... We will have to compromise on both imports and indigenous development. It will cost money but it is need of the hour. We will have to go for 5th gen AMCA, and imported 5th gen. In addition feasibility study for 6th gen zhould also be there to catch up with rest of world. It will cost lot of money

If keep on window shopping for fighter jets you will never purchase any. If you want a complete developed jet that will take 30years by the time you will 2 generations back after purchase like Rafale which cannot compete with any 5th gen jets today. Best is to check for budget and purchase it and focus on our own programs as stop gap

Chinese J-20, J-35 are paper tigers...don't buy F-35 or Su-57 in such hurry just because China is selling it's defective cheap products to its pet. Focus on completing all our own indegenous projects including Kaveri engine within 2030 with full production capabilities.
