3 years later and your comment is so accurate. For the last question I indeed put 1/2j (for doubling joels rate, I forgot the 1 is his output, the widget, and J is J hours, so doubling his hours would mean he takes TWICE as long). Flipping it to 2/j is the correct one as it would be doubling the rate he produces widgets, and was then able to solve it. Thank you for your work and I hope you're well these days!

No doubt Philip, you are a great teacher. But, for the last question, I think the below would be a better and shorter method: Let's assume the total distance of the race is 100 meters. Philip ran the first p% of the race at 6 m/s, which means he covered p meters at this speed. The time taken for this part is p/6 seconds. For the remaining (100-p)% of the race, he ran at 3 m/s. This means he covered (100-p) meters at this speed. The time taken for this part is (100-p)/3 seconds. Total time taken = p/6 + (100-p)/3 = (p+200-2p)/6 = (200-p)/6 seconds Average speed = Total distance / Total time = 100 / ((200-p)/6) = 600 / (200-p) m/s Therefore, Philip's average speed in terms of p is 600 / (200-p) m/s.

Question about the last question in the video- option B: would it not be correct to subtract the x and factorize X^3 - x and notice that it's three consecutive integers. (x-1) (x) (x+1). Thus giving you and the potential for a positive and negative solution?

I know the effort it takes to make these videos, but at least for the difficult questions, can you write the calculations or show them instead of speaking about them?

Gotta love it when an exam tests your ability to catch stupid tricks rather than your actual mathematical knowledge. Almost like they profit off people who retake after missing trick questions like the ones you covered. It's an evil scheme to get as much money as possible out of poor grad applicants.

I have a doubt, is it possible to solve a question like this using the same method? A solution is made up of 13 parts water, 2 parts orange juice, and 4 parts apple juice. If you wanted the percentage of orange juice to be 25% of the solution, how many parts would you need to add?
