Hi Philip, given my GRE just few days back and got 313(V149, Q164). I am not the guy who subscribes KZbin channels unless I think it's worth subscribing. After 3-4 months of following your videos, I am proud to say that I am your subscriber. Your calm and collected strategy for reading comprehension has helped me immensely and I really like the way you explain things. Thank you for everything. And for my fellow learners- I was very weak in the verbal section especially the reading comp section. After watching Philip's strategies, it became somewhat easier. Coming to quant section, I was always strong in math...but the GRE quant has gone to another level - Don't worry, it is still doable but requires lot of practice especially few advanced problems. The topics I encountered in both my quant sections are units digit, even odd, Co-ordinate geometry, few inequalities, one absolute value question, very high level sequence problems which I did not expect, some standard Geometry questions which tested regular polygons, complex squares and rectangle problems, circles with inscribed squares and finally triangles. Remember most Geometry questions were part of Quantitative Comparison. Finally, probability, permutations, normal distribution (hard section QC), general statistics. Data interpretation has become very tough, I personally got 2piechart-1table question(This particular question had 9 digit number which obviously I was not able to fit in calculator since it allows only 8 digits... approximating techniques helped me to solve this). But they were doable if you spend first 30 seconds to understand the question(with percent increase). FYI, hard section of quant had two data interpretation problems(I guess from Q14-Q17 and then new chart at Q19). Prepare well. All the best.

Excellent method to learn words. These words are now stuck like glue: Cloddish-clownish Limned-highlighted, outlined (although I thought it's something to do with limbs) Gaudy-ostentatious Indelible -Cannot be erased or removed Epitaph-Obituary Prescient -Pre knowledge Apocryphal- Made up story (i sort of new this from the Apocryphal books of the Bible) Thankyou Mr Phillip.

I adore this way of yours for teaching words by showing them in their true contextual usage, as it helps apprehend nuances ( your favorite one !)of each word. Please keep bringing such articles to teach words because it entails not just sophisticated vocab but also good RC practice, as you mentioned. Blessings!!!

Thank you so much. I like this kind of teaching. I look forward to hearing from you in your next videos. Today I have learned many new words like hatchet jobs, prominently, nuanced, etc. I have to review the passage again to collect all the new words! By watching you I feel like I start to like learning new vocabularies. 💕

Thanks for reading out this article Philip, not only did I learn a lot of new words, especially depantsing (I was surprised that it was a common word) and phrases but also learnt a lot of stuff which was previously unknown to me at least about one of my favorite writers. And please do continue this way of teaching vocab, somehow my brain is doing a better job of remembering the words when I see them in a article being read out than just bluntly memorizing them.

Acquisition is more successful, when vocabulary is introduced, read, and analyzed within an authentic piece of text; and in which the reader has background knowledge of the topic or subject. Please continue facilitating in this manner. Thank you!
