Great choice Ron. I have one on my truck fo a couple years now, long box ,and am quite happy with it. My truck has been outside in some hard rains and no water in box. Long term plan for me is to get stake holes filled for practicality and looks. I have a tip for you. I noticed u closed the cover down and then closed the tailgate and that why its a little high along the back. Close the tailgate first then close the cover over top and the rubber piece on the cover will overlap the top of the tailgate and seal the box. At the price of these covers if I was unhappy with the product or service from the vendor I'd have no problem calling him/her out in the video.
@shortcutgarage3 күн бұрын
I’ll try that technique and see if it sits down at the back, thanks for that. As far as the vendor goes, it was pretty fresh. I’m past protecting Truck Parts Superstore at this point. Truth is they weren’t even the lowest price but they were a local small business which I prefer supporting.

@@shortcutgarage will have to make a video. but yea, i put them in all my 54 chevy belair builds since they can swing forward because they came out of a two door car. in the trucks they are great for the same reason since the interior fuel tank is gone, now i can get behind the seats for storage. not to mention the heated seats are bottom AND lower back. electric positioning up down forward and back, and lumbar with up down adjustment. pull the head rests off and they look like low back buckets. pick any center console to finish it off. usually at least 3 in the junkyard and one of them will have a driver seat that isnt ruined. dont forget the heated seat switches next to the shifter.

I got a 3 speed Muncie “HD” from an early 70s 3/4 ton truck. 3.03:1 1st gear, 1.75:1 2nd gear, 1.00:1 3rd. Putting it in my 1993 c1500 behind a mild built and soon to be boosted small block Chevy. Using the hydraulic clutch conversion kit from American Powertrain. This was a helpful video for when I install the floor shifter. Paid $150 for the transmission off marketplace, new seals and bearings going in it while it’s out, and about $950 for the hydraulic clutch conversion kit. With the clutch and flywheel and other odds and ends it’s gonna be like $1750 all said and done. About $3250 cheaper than building the 4l60e and stand-alone TCM, and it’ll handle the same amount of power.

I used some 3000 grit Hercules foam sanding pads and gently wet sanded the hood of a 08 Honda that sat outside for too many years. I only used 3000 bc I don't have much experience. To my surprise it came out well and I then practiced polishing it using the Makita 3" polisher which was on sale 50% off last month, 3" griots orange and some Sonax. It increased the shine a lot, a couple people admired the paint and asked how much but I have not sold it yet. Nobody wants to spend the KBB ramge. I wonder if foam pad with Maguires ultimate compound would shine that yellow hood up more
