you forgot a critical part and that was the beer! Not to mention the plastic oiler gear, washer and bearing that goes in the tail shaft housing which prevents the syncros from burning up! please take it apart and make sure!

Mechanical Speedo will work with like style trans. Speed sensor type tranny requires an adapter ($$$$) or a cheap Amazon GPS Speedo, like $20

I’ve got a 69 C20 with an SM465 and I wondered if anyone knew of a good 5 speed swap I could do that would hold up on a 3/4 ton truck?

Depends on the engine and how it’s going to be used. The T5 is great for daily driving but not so much for hauling or beating up on. You’ll want to source a NV3500 for that.
