It should work, you just have to manually set the focal length

Thank you! The lenses are contax mount. I used a simple Contax CY-EF adapter which I put on a sigma EF-L mount adapter on the S5. Hope that helps!

To be honest, it works great! I've never really noticed any wobbling, however i ususally add some slight stabilisation in post.

@@SigurdGrimsby i think crop mode has a crop factor of 1.5, so it will turn into a 22mm lens, That's still pretty wide but depends on your preference.

It’s a fully manual lens, no electronics. The aperture is adjustable with a ring. But there is no communication with the camera at all, so no autofocus. You’ll need an adapter, which one depends on the mount of your camera.

@@jellewernik thank you! Since its completely manual does that mean it cannot remote shoot through an app or on a timer? I'd like to shoot myself as the subject, with newer camera bodies for canon I can remote shoot with a phone connect app, but I'm not sure if this lens would allow that

@@rulansmith remote shooting depends on the camera you are using. With timer is usually possible. Just be aware that you’ll have to set the focus and aperture before, you can’t change those remotely.

@@yew108 for photos it’s usually best to use RAW. When you then convert into black and white, you have more control over the image. But I can really recommend the s5, as long as you don’t really need autofocus.

I use a vintage lens. I use an adapter from L-mount to EF. And on that an adapter from EF to OM. But since it’s a fully manual lens there’s no need for electronics in the adapter. So no autofocus, just manual.

But if you have F4 even in some daylight indoor shoots ISO 4000 is not enough. But i am happy because tech is always evolving so the next Panasonic camera will be even better

Optically they’re almost the same. I personally just prefer the 35mm focal length.

Both are great lenses. Both are extremely sharp. The Contax lenses have more “microcontrast”, giving subjects more separation from the background. It is also vintage glass which give the image a bit more character. The irix lens, while being very sharp, feels more creamy. The 28mm contax also has some blooming. I’m not sure if that’s just my copy or if it’s the same with all versions. The irix lens is of course a cinema lens. Which has its advantages. (Long focus throw, great build quality, clickless aperture.) however, I still use screw on filters and an 86mm thread isn’t very common so I need to use a filter adapter which isn’t great with a wide angle lens. Other than that it’s amazing. So for image quality, one isn’t better than the other. The contax ones have more character. But the irix isn’t clinically clean either (which is a good thing for me). Hope that helps!

I did color grade, made it quite a bit warmer.
