I loved the orange tree; but it is looking more like the reference now. The orange really popped though.

Pause at 6:37 you’ll see you’ve formed a shape of a face on right tree- continue to 9:02 the face is more pronounced- Can you see it? There’s - pareidolia- where one can see faces- objects within clouds - rocks- trees etc- It’s astonishing that many don’t see this- here it’s very obvious- there’s two eyes and a long nose..:: side mouth- head shape- even the left tree has two eyes- just an FYI- step back have a look and keep this in mind- when creating shapes- I learned this from Bob Ross- Pause 9:02

Great video! Thank you! I really like your backpack. It's simiIar to the one I currently use, but mine is about 5-6 lbs heavier, empty. I'll have to look those up and order one. I used to use those old shopping store bags for trash like in this video, but now I bring a roll of dog-poop bags. They are inexpensive and compact, and you can also get a little dispenser for them if you want. I prefer the blue shop paper towels over the thin paper towels too.

I appreciate your calm manner and concise explanations, and I was blown away by the Heidelberg painting, and I love the little flower seedlings container! I’ve not seen this much description about plein air gear and set up anywhere; Thank you!!!

My mineral spirits isnt settling clear, ive been waiting a while for it to...what do i do?
@ScottRuthvenFineArtАй бұрын
Sometimes the sediment will settle, but the mineral spirits is stained a bit. That usually happens to me when I use strong, staining colors like the phthalo blue or phthalo green. If this is the case, and the sediment has settled out, then it should still be fine to reuse the mineral spirits.

HOW DO U TRANSPORT THE WET OIL PAINTINGS BACK,,, ESPECIALL IF U HAVE MORE THAN ONE.? I HAVE NOT FIGURED OUT A WAY TO DO THIS YET
@ScottRuthvenFineArt3 ай бұрын
I add fast drying mediums, like Galkyd Gel from Gamblin so the paintings are dry by the end of the week and I can stack and roll the loose canvases together. This isn't possible if they are wet. If I'm painting on rigid panels, I can safely transport 2 wet paintings face-to-face in a wet panel carrier. Find those here: www.panelpak.com Happy painting!

Thank you again Scott. A wonderful painting and all kinds of excellent information. What really blows me away is when you painted the first mountain.
