I used to train boxers in mma also. The boxers won every mma match in under 30 seconds because I trained the boxers how to avoid kicks & takedowns & stay engaged to punch. The concept is simple. As soon as they reach out to grab you, hit him on the chin. If they kick, side step backwards if they dive for an ankle, pivot. To be great in boxing today , with such an extensive history of greats, you have to be something special (finding that needle in a haystack advantage is so small). Boxing reigns supreme because of its history and its limitations of combat. Kickboxing/Muay Thai will achieve the same heights as the well runs dry and so will MMA. It’s all just a matter of time until they all cash in and we’re starting to see that shift now! If you want to know the projected future of MMA, just look at the history of boxing!
