It’s as simple as understanding percentage payouts with UFC never paying out more than 20% purse to fighters and only Connor gets 20%. Boxers take home over 50% and the promoters which is what UFC is at the end of the day, take about 50%. That means UFC is taking 30% more than Boxing promotions. And when you look at every other major sport they are close to that 50/50 split unlike the UFC 80/20

I think Colby is one of the few fighters in the UFC that doesn't cut much weight. And you can see how small he always looks compared to his opponent. Dustin looks huge at 155, I think he walks around at 195. Khabib almost died trying to make weight, he actually didn't even make weight his last fight and walks at around 190-195. But then if you do it by weight you gonna have let’s say me at 6’2 220 pounds at like 20 percent body fat versus someone like Jon jones who’s 6’4 at 220 and around 14 percent body fat. Boxing is great due to its lack of tools (two hands). Those guys are not the greatest all round fighters in the world (how could they be with such limited weapons). To be great in boxing today , with such an extensive history of greats, you have to be something special (finding that needle in a haystack advantage is so small). Boxing reigns supreme because of its history and its limitations of combat. Kickboxing/Muay Thai will achieve the same heights as the well runs dry and so will MMA. I still don’t get why ufc pay is still getting shitted on. Crawford could fight in a cage with his own promotion and make the same if not more and bring even more money into it. He just doesn’t have the skill set. So him and Spence made 30Ms each. How much did the opening pre lims make and the rest of the card. Imagine 1 promotion running all of boxing. They would monopolize the pay. Ufc so far is one of the only successful mma companies. Most don’t make it too far. Dana should get props for what he has done. I heard Jon Jones vs Ngannou 1 would've gotten them 3 million and that's one of the biggest fights of our generation. Inoki was a Catch wrestler, who was there to submit Ali. It was a classic wrestler vs boxer match-up. But Ali's team threatened to withdraw from the match last minute, unless Inoki agrees to a rule change that doesn't allow any stand-up wrestling. Only mat wrestling allowed. That's why you see Inoki constantly on his butt.

I am a huge boxing fan but the UFC provides a much better product for their fans. Every pay per view is loaded with quality fights while there was not a decent fight on the undercard of the Terrence Crawford vs Spence fight.

You misunderstood! They said the weight classes are drastic. Light weight in MMA is 155 and the the next weight is 170 which is welterweight and then the next weight class is 185 which is middleweight and then the next weight class is light heavyweight which is 205 now those are high weight jump.

I'd pay to see some sort of modified MMA fight with Bud!!! Maybe no kicks below the waist or no kicks at all. Just striking and wrestling - Bud would be okay! Once UFC (MMA in general) started having rounds, and the ref standing them up if too long on the ground, BJJ lost its advantage - survival to a stalemate was all that was needed - who in MMA could survive Bud wearing small gloves

The weight cutting is preposterous in MMA especially for the little pay. However, you cut more weight when you’re training for more stuff if boxers had to do that they would die

Ya know, the fighters could just fight in the right weight class… wtf does low pay have to do with being a weight bully? Are you saying if they were paid better, guys wouldn’t care about their record or their place in the sport, and weight bullies would disappear? Come on. These guys want every edge they can get, and weight cutting is one way to gain an edge. You can easily get rid of weight cutting. Weigh them as much as they’re drug tested. Don’t let them move down a class until they’ve proven they can maintain the lower weight for an extended period of time.
