Jodorowsky is learned in psychology (his university major), was around and performed with well known and respected French avant garde artists, was a serious practitioner of Zen, a deep interpreter and long time student of the Tarot. I watched this when it was first released. I was 8 years old and saw it at a drive in, it was the first form of entertainment that made me cry. I was heartbroken for days afterwards. The 70's and even more so the 80's had some really traumatic movies that kids watched. I am pretty sure there is nothing even close being produced these days. Im unsure if kids these days are missing out or got lucky.
