Glad I could help! How are you feeling now after some more time with the Deluge?
@bryanbooneart2 ай бұрын
I thought it was going to be more ambient -- which I also love -- from the intro but then you brought in the main sequence and it really came to life. I've recently gotten back into music and am thinking about picking up a Deluge next month.
@MadValleyMusic2 ай бұрын
I always recommend the Deluge to anyone getting back into music. I stopped for a while too and after jumping back into it with semi-modular with the Moogs I got the Deluge and never looked back. It’s almost all you need. Worth every penny!

Pretty pretty! What’s the blue box making the pad?? Really love the Minotaur too. That things rad (but that’s probably the old bass player in me talking.. 😂)
@MadValleyMusic3 ай бұрын
Yeah man, you mean the purple pedal? That's what's making the pad. It's called the Aerospace Atmosphere. Link is in the description. It's great just to pick a key and get a vibe. The blue pedal is my Strymon Blue Sky reverb. And yeah, as for the Minitaur, I love it for synth bass, but even on my record I layered it underneath real bass at times for fullness!
@oaklandghosts05103 ай бұрын
@@MadValleyMusicya the aerospace! Hadn’t seen that before. Very cool for instant vibes. I see they’ve got an app version too.. maybe I’ll give that a go and see if I can wire my phone into my mixer… great stuff man!

Great try dude! Jk, that was great. 🙂 Enjoyed watching the process with the commentary as text. Let me focus on the musical process and learn some things. I’m slowly getting back into music and thinking of getting the Deluge.
@MadValleyMusic3 ай бұрын
Ha, get it Bryan! Especially if you are just getting into music again. I stepped away from music myself for 4 years and got the Deluge when I came back to it. It is an inspiring machine that gives you everything you need to craft full ideas immediately. Yeah it's not cheap but it is absolutely worth it when you talk about spending at minimum half the price for something that only does one or two things.

I’ve tried to do that but honestly it doesn’t sound good into my phone. I wish it did. I go into my DAW directly and export raw from there, marry it to the video and export. I have an Arturia 16 Rig so all the ins and outs I need. It’s wonderful.

What is your workflow with recording into arranger? I mean I can't remember what clip plays what and if I want to cut out in the middle after the recording, I can't :/
@MadValleyMusic5 күн бұрын
So I really rehearse a lot before recording to arranger. It’s just easier to do it right than to edit it later. You technically can cut clips in the middle if you turn them into a white clip. Then shorten them. If I’m understanding your question right.

Very cool stuff. I’m intrigued by this set up. I’m also using the deluge as my main sequencer/brains and looking ok’ing to add some external gear. Curious (now that it’s been at least a year since this video) what your thoughts on the Moog Sound Studio and specifically, it playing nice with the deluge are? Really love your work! Keep it up! Cheers.
@MadValleyMusic8 ай бұрын
Hey thanks so much! The sound studio is still just awesome. The M32 is glorious and the DFAM is as small or big and dirty as you could imagine. To me though, the Subharmonicon is just my favorite. You really have to dial it in and it takes time but it's just all my heart when you get something good. Yeah they play just fine with the Deluge. I've mostly just run them with CV but I do sequence the M32 as well. Suuuuper easy to set that up via the Deluge. That being said, I don't think you need all 3 of these things necessarily. 2 or even just 1 is enough to lose yourself for months, ha.
@oaklandghosts05106 ай бұрын
@@MadValleyMusicfinally managed to score a sound studio the other day and diving into the rabbit hole to figure out how to use em all! Haven’t got anywhere close to making it play with the deluge yet,but out of curiosity, how are you sending clock from deluge to the sound studio?
@MadValleyMusic6 ай бұрын
Amazing! I just saw your unboxing short. Congrats man!! For me i use the Arturia Keystep pro to sun and send clock but using the Deluge I go out Gate 4, since that’s the clock out, into the M32 and tie that to the SubHarm then DFAM. Just works best for me. Dude have fun and post some jams when you can!

I have a little different approach. Mine keyboard goes into Deluge and from the Deluge MIDI is routed to all other synths (by chaining three Craves from 5pin DIN in Deluge, rest of synths is through USB hub). Audio from all synths goes to patchbay, next to mixer and finally coming back to Deluge. I am a little bit jealous about the Microcosm you have here ;)
@MadValleyMusic9 ай бұрын
Yes! That's a great flow!. Honestly, the Microcosm is a huge part of my setup now. I have it setup with 2 clicks I'm running something different through it so it's always at the ready and takes something boring and makes it beautiful, no matter what! Hologram have a black one out right now!
@SmallWorldBigThings9 ай бұрын
@@MadValleyMusic I simulated a little bit of what Microcosm is doing with mine MS-70CDR... and also Lemondrop (granular synth) with audio in is capable of nice ambient actions... but yes - Microcosm it is the next device on my shopping list. ;)
