Wes, I've been searching for this exact answer for an hour! Thanks so much. I'm brand new to DIY repairs, and the Bank # was NEVER explained to me (until now). [UPVOTE]

I was at work watching this video in 2013 at the shop I'm still currently working for. Helped me run that repair smoothly.

Wes, love your videos. Have you seen the magic solution? Use an AIR HAMMER to vibrate the bearing carrier -- and as the rust is broken loose -- and the bearing & axle just 'walk' out of the carrier. To see it done -- Google Toyota Sienna 2015 here on YT. The process takes about 50 seconds. (!) There is NO prying, pulling, pushing, cutting involved. (The vibration is applied perpendicular to the axle.) The axle-bearing assembly just 'walks' out of its carrier. The outer element's weight pulls it out. Yes, you still need to address the snap ring, the 14mm carrier-bearing bolt. The result is simply astonishing. Rust can't withstand air hammer vibration -- period. It's too brittle, too rigid. The vibration -- at the micro-level -- just flexes the iron -- causing the rust to 'dissolve' into dust. Rust is the only thing holding the bearing in its carrier -- once the snap ring and bolt are gone.

On some vehicles the top 2 bolts are adjustable for front end alignment. If you do it this way, make sure to have your front wheels re-aligned

Mate your sharing some really bad advice tbh calling a bearing carrier mount that bolts to the block and engine mount tells me you have no clue and shouldn't t be giv9ng people false information. Engine mounts consist or rubber and metal that round thing behind the cv is an engine mount...
@dipstar8178 Жыл бұрын
Your referring to the cv axle carrier bearing mount as an engine mount. Which is not true it's a cv carrier bearing mount that's attached I assume to the block. It's definitely not an engine mount as it plays no part in mounting the engine to the frame dies it

Thank you so much. Now to not pay $300 for it. Come in Amazon. Oh and that wrench size is 22mm. Like a 9/16 works for 14mm, 7/8 works for 22mm.😉

HELPFUL TIP: If you can’t reach the B1S1 from the bottom... Take the right front tire and you’ll see it’s easier to get to it from the side. Bought an eBay aftermarket and checked for Ohms and it’s within specs. Also make sure the connectors “clip” together lol I thought I bought a bad sensor but it was the connector disconnected. SMH

pleasure to listen to you. Clear and making sense. And not one word more then what is needed. Some videos spent a quarter of their time talking off topic or about something totally useless. Again. Pleasure to listen to you.

Thanks for the video. I noticed you removed the heat shield over the exhaust manifold. Was looking over the task last weekend and realized it needed to be removed for access to the sensor.

Here is what i do not understand about all these videos on this subject, it actually is not like what you show, for example, taping with the vise grips. In a actual car there are many things in the way that would make that impossible on a car that actually has all the parts on it.

If you are a DIY and dont have a lift this may work for you. I recently got this job done by using a pickle fork between the housing and the bracket. Then hammer the pickle fork handle toward drivers side. This successfully broke the bearing free of the bracket. Then it was easy to finish the job using the hammer pulley, but i could have just used a hammer and chisel to finish the job. The hammer pulley did not work by itself until the pickle fork broke the bearing free. This done for a 2002 model the bearing would not move until I used the pickle fork. No cutting or bracket removal was needed.
