So you're saying they're not actually bad endings? that's a major cap my brother, stop trying to gaslight people just bc you can't see the problems, just bc in concept, these things make sense, doesn't mean the execution was well done. Saying anything out of JJK had potential to be the best at anything is a clear reason not to take anything you're saying here seriously, you just seem to be trying to do damage control, bc people hate something you love.

Then there is me who dropped all of these series you say had bad/divisive endings, way before they came to an end, which makes me feel like the bad ending had nothing to do with leaks, peer-pressure or herd mentality. MHA i dropped by ch250 i think, when the heroes were invading the villains hide out, at that point i was just reading out of inertia and wasn't really enjoying anything outside of Endeavoir since the Hero K**er arc, everything about it bored me to tears; JJK i dropped around the middle of the free for all Sukuna fight, Kashimo is a joke, keep in mind i had dropped the series 3 times before and only came back bc of all the hype and murmurs on twitter, dropped in the Curse Womb Paintings arc, then dropped again in the middle of the Culling Games, then finally dropped this sheet for good in the middle of that convoluted and reateeddd Sukuna fight, only good arcs in my opinion are the Sacred Vessel and Shibuya, the rest go from awful to incompetent, unfocused, hollow or cringe. AoT i dropped twice, once when they're going back to Wall Rose or Maria i think, to go into Eren's basement to find out about the Titan's secret, the second and final time was in the middle of Marley's attack on the island, idk know what it is, but it's really hard for me to get invested in a story if i dislike the characters, then nothing that happens matters to me.

The ending of SNK is not bad xd. I know many people who started to dislike SNK since it started to focus in the political conflict between the islands. Many people expected to continue with the cosmic horror genre of the begginig, so at the end, at least for this work, is a matter of expectations, not about quality.

It really boils down to a lot of the shonen audience being insanely emotionally immature. They just care about the hype, fights, love, ships, and all the surface level aspects of manga. The deeper story and themes are lost of them half the time, and usually these endings are more reflective of the overall theme, not wrapping up an already action packed story with more action, which is what i expect most shonen junkies to want

i am sorry but when you talked about gojo and his character i nearly teared up bc he is so so so mischaracterized and just watered down by some people that just want to see him as the popular handsome anime character with the white hair and blue eyes and its so annoying , seeing someone completely understand him and the story in general just gives me hope that maybe one day more people will actually try to read into the story and not see it as that surface level popular shonen manga bc it feels like a lot of "fans" dont really understand the story or gege's writing in general also what you said about chapter 236 and the shift with chapter 235 was completely valid i fully agree it is also one of my favorite chapters and very well written

Most of this video is about leaks instead of shounen endings, you should've made the title be "How leaks ruin Shonen Endings" instead of the title you ended with.

I think it's crazy that naruto had a rushed ending, but also had to be dragged out enough to bring his son into the picture. Like imagine being pulled in both directions to end your series, but keep it going at the same time.

I love open endings, its why I loved the end of fairy tail so much. Its my favorite shonen. The only long one ive ever really finished, dragon ball cant count because it wont end. But I read the manga in its entirety during an anime hiatus and I was so excited to see the end move. I also didnt spoil anyone being a kid who just didnt use like Twitter or anything. Idk how the ending is percived by others but fuck em I loved it.

some of the jjk criticism are just absurd, I'm not saying the ending is perfect but people calling it bad and the reasoning is just so stupid why they didn't use inumaki during higuruma fight or why sukuna so lucky higuruma domain didn't hit his CT, like the fight will end so fast and super underwhelming if that happened

aot has the best ending imo. i'm not going to join the bandwagon and say cg and fma's ending was perfect. first of all, fma's ending was satisfying but at the cost of it feeling like a disney movie. ed sacrificed alchemy, but there was no visible effect as he could just learn it again, al came back (hurray, i guess), ed ended up with with the love interest (hurray, i guess), mustang didn't end up as fuhrer president in the end, etc. the way everything was fine and dandy at the end felt like every disney movie i had watched. as for code geass, people just ignore the whole charade with the king and his mom and the geass power and god and all that shi, it was just so confusing and anticlimatic (pretty sure that's what ppl who say the basement reveal was obvious, wanted, lol). war magically disappearing after lelouch united them was kinda dum too, it's not that easy. lelouch's conclusion was amazing but the side characters' conclusions were mostly mid or garbage. suzaku becoming zero did nothing to his character arc, it was pretty much just thrown there. schneizel was a walking plot device (he being the final antagonist for lelouch was so dissapointing). noone cared about c2's conclusion. the sidecast from the black knights and the school were given mid conclusions. In light of all these, how are these endings regarded the best in all of anime, i fail to understand 😑

While I have my own feelings with a lot of Shonen endings, I generally disagree with a lot of this video. A lot of it can be summed up as "Themes over execution". This is basically the problem I have with the entirety of MHA's 3rd act. Yeah, it hits all the thematic points, but 1. That's all it does. 2. It does it poorly. The epilogue and final chapter are much the same. It's not outright terrible, but it damn sure ain't good either. It's just whatever. It's AN ending. It essentially does the absolute bare minimum of what it needs to do. As far as Clorox is concerned, up until the anime was announced to come back a few years ago and it was being hailed as the greatest thing ever written that haters were just too stupid to get, it was almost universally agreed that it went to dog shit after Soul Society, and I'm pretty sure leak culture or none of that had any hand in things. I only casually watched the anime up till Soul Society and read a bit of Fullbring, then just vaguely kept up with what was happening through forum discussions, so I personally don't have too many feeling on it myself (I thought it was okay), but even as an outsider looking in, the backlash towards the ending was the result of years worth of frustration. I always see people blame the weekly reading cycle, but that's stupid because that's literally how these stories are released and meant to be read. On a week-to-week basis. People shouldn't need to wait years for a story to finish before they decide it's not good. I think it's stupid and kind of unfair to tell people that they need to go back through a story they already grew to dislike (especially one hundreds of chapters long) before they're allowed to dislike it or say anything bad about it. The only parts I really agree with are the issue of people projecting onto characters and the issue of reader expectations (and some times, both of these can basically be summed up as people are *censored*ing stupid, especially when it comes to the projecting and inability to separate reality from fiction.) I think a bigger issue is more just part of internet culture as a whole where nuance basically doesn't exist and only the most extreme opinions prevail. You can't have an end just be okay or kinda good but whatever, or kinda weak/below average but not terrible. Everything has to be either peak or trash or mid (which is usually just another way of calling something trash)

I have one thing to say: Gintama. Perfect ending, saw next to no criticism. And it’s a 700+ chapter series. I highly recommend. Also if you count CSM part 1 as it’s own manga, that was universally praised as well

What people fail to realize about endings is that they are almost designed to make you realize that you were, in fact, focused on a singular story, in a sea or sky full of them and it was because of your focus on this single story that when it ends you want everyone to notice it for how good it was and you want everyone to see how big its explosion will be before the light goes out but the truth is no matter how big a star shines, some stars just go out with a flicker, and during their time they might have burned brighter than any other star or likewise have been in the shadow of another's for some time as well. This is how it is. If every series ended with an overpowered protagonist, I can not even imagine how boring stories would be, the room is TOO BRIGHT at that point and we would see why series like Jujutsu Kaisen ending with everyone returning where they started with new strengths, scars, and a promising perspective on the future is how you want most stories to go. There is something about being live to these events that we are forgetting. I cannot wait for people to run this back in a decade and say beginning to end it was beautiful.

I mean, Dragon Ball's ending wasn't _bad._ It makes a fair bit of sense given that Goku's entire journey is about wanting to find stronger guys to fight, and Uub is special considering that he was positioned as a character (before GT) that Goku wouldn't ever really surpass. Someone that could keep up with him. So it makes a fair bit of sense why Goku would want to train him, and for multiple reasons. Not only would he get enjoyment out of it, but he'd he leaving Earth with a suitable protector once he's gone (considering that Gohan dropped the ball and doesn't necessarily like to fight). The reason that Z's ending has that reputation is because it comes out of left field almost if you aren't really paying attention during Goku's fight with Kid Buu. Like, its easily the most fun that Goku has had fighting a villain in a long time.

I feel like most stories would be better if they were shorter. Once a story starts to continue longer than necessary, it starts to fall apart real quick. A shorter and tighter story is better than unnecessary long series that just doesnt know when to end.

Finally, someone with a measured view of MHA's ending. I am so tired of people who never read the manga and just went off on leaked mistranslations to shit on the whole ending. I will never say that it was perfect, or I didn't have my own desires for it, but what's there is fitting and follows what came before it. I liked it.

So narutos ending isnt generally perceived as good? I think i get it becwuse of the Kaguya stuff... ulyimstely he gets rid of the bug bad though And what about naruto becoming hokage, marrying hinata, and having kids? I cant compare thus to my heros ending... in terms of didappointment Correct me if Im wrong... Isn't narutos other ending points good enough to make it a good ending?
@EmanMerc7 күн бұрын
i feel like My hero's ending is more disappointing comparable to this and shouldn't be put in the same league... as an example using Naruto, but with My Heros ending plot points. It'd be like Naruto's last bad guy actually being Madara and Naruto defeats him In the process of defeating Madara somehow Naruto he loses Kurama We have a time skip and see that Naruto is not Hokage Naruto doesn't end up with anyone as a partner Naruto is no longer a ninja since he can't fight Naruto also teaches at the ninja school... Can you see the difference? Naruto is not on the same level of disappointment - I really don't think so...

About Ikkakus Bankai being broken. Under a video from Mr. Tommo about the worst bankais someone said this: "Wouldn’t surprise me if Ikakku has a false bankai. I suspect that Ikakku’s respect for Kenpachi is a kind of limiter and his zanpaktou basically thinks “hey, if you don’t actually want to try to kill the strongest fighter you know and are content to live in his shadow, I’m not giving you all of my power.”"
