Was taught that heaving to is initiated by tacking to backwind the jib. Skips first statement is this step can't even be done in challenging conditions. I watch this video several times each year to make sure the steps are fully digested and second nature.

layout awesome but in the video the cat seems to pitch too easily as if too much weight forward. the lagoon i owned moved smoother thru the water at all speeds. hope its just an illusion . . . life can be that way!

The boat looks less brutal than the 51 and it seems to be very agile. However, I miss the elegance and finesse of the Neel 45 Design (kzbin.info/www/bejne/ooimmYaQndR0o9k) in all the other designs from Neel a little bit also in the 52... But beauty is without any doubt in the eye of the beholder....

Muitos argumentam que é um barco muito caro e concordo q é mesmo, pelo menos pra 99% da população mundial. Mas tem alguns pontos: a possibilidade de encalhar em segurança, o tamanho reduzido que permite acesso a pequenos portos, a aparente maior facilidade de navegar solo, a robustez e funcionalidade de cada peça, isso pra não falar no motor elétrico com possibilidade de gerar energia. "Packed with interesting ideas and features" and at least one absolutely dreadful one... The swim platform that you have to lower down to get access to the life raft looks like an awful design idea to me. So many things could prevent you from getting the life raft out of its compartment.

Always enjoy a Toby Hodges yacht review video. Love his insights and interviews. Appreciate his wealth of knowledge on sailing and the yachting industry. He's very good at putting his interview subjects at ease with his genuine enthusiasm and easy going friendliness.

IKEA interior, square windows. Soulless in my opinion, no more art in design. Before you comment back and cry just remember this is my opinion. Subjective:)

Looks a great boat, but you can see the difference in space when you go up just 4 or 5 feet to a 44 foot similar yacht- everything is just that bit roomier.

I really like Hanse's design language. I don't like their sharp edged interiors. I went with a Hallberg Rassy 340 because of their well built interiors and solid build quality.

I have come to realize that it is not the length of hull that matters to me. It is the height of mast that limits my abilities/comfort. That is simply too much mast for me to ever be comfortable with. Nice to be on, with a crew and experienced skipper.

Do you have to rig the sheet differently on inside vs outside gybe? I always get confused if sheet has to be inside tack line for inside gybe - or does sheet always go outside the tack as in outside gybe

If i could afford a 40ft trimaran I would choose the dragonfly, without any doubt, and now they are about to launch a 36ft less expensive and maybe better performance.

The cockpit looks tight to get around, with no helm protection in rain or heavy weather. I love sailing but it’s no fun when you’re wet and cold

When lifting the anchor, you talk briefly about a “stopper” which is not shown. You also have a slack chain on deck when securing. I ssuggest you need to show how the load is off the chain when it is handled. The static load of anchor and chain, in addition to dynamic load from stuck anchor, needs to be completely secured before any actions on the chain are performed. Perhaps using a short 2 foot stopper with claws on deck ? The shown approach does not appear safe.

Is this a caravan that they are selling or does anybody look at seaworthiness especially when super yachts are sinking in the med at anchor. Bet you it's got glued in bulkheads and paper thin around the keel bolts or aren't you really are yachtsman that enquires about these things. Jenneau for example thinks it's acceptable to have exposed chipboard edges beneath the waterline which will obviously get wet. It beggars belief.
