A less labor-intensive approach is to just get an adapter for a different battery system and switch over to those. For example, I inherited some of these Craftsman tools, plus a few other brands I didn't use normally. They all needed new batteries, so I would have to buy a bunch that weren't compatible with my original tools. Instead, I invested in a few Dewalt battery clones and got an adapter from those to the various tool brands. With the adapters, I'm still only using one type of battery, so only one type of charger required. Most adapters are <$20. (You can also 3D-print them, but I found it to be too much trouble to track down all the metal hardware to make it connect electrically.)

Not worth the time and effort cuz for about $17.00 you can buy an adapter from Amazon that will allow any newer type lithium batt that you chose to run your older craftsman tools I use Dewalt lithium batteries on my older 19.2 volt craftsman tools as well as my new Dewalt tools

true. or you can buy new lithium ion batteries made for the 19.2 series tools. both options come out to around the same cost. this way in the video may actually come out to be cheaper if you have a bunch of 19.2 nicd batteries lying around that you dont want to chunk in the garbage.

Hello, can you please tell me which Dewalt Lithium Battery you use to replace the Craftsman 19.2v? Thank You

DO these big lipos have the bms in them? I'm guessing not because of the balance lead. Might want to get one of those low battery screamers that attach to the balance plug, that's what I did. I was afraid of killing the battery.

After a few years I got fed up with wet wood and built a proper wood store. It’s just a framework of 2x1 with fencing timber nailed on the roof to make it look nice. The real work is done by a lining of damp proof membrane which is stretched across the roof, walls and floor, leaving the ends open for ventilation. It’s about 2m x 2m x 5m and I now have two of them so I can fill one while I empty the other. Damp proof membrane is tough and fairly cheap - used to line concrete floors to provide a moisture barrier. Ideal for lining a log store.

Mine is stacked on old wooden pallets (or homemade pallets), and under a 8x20 shed next to my metal sided barn. This year, due to storm damaged trees, I will have to add another 5 ft. section. I only stack the firewood 2 deep and almost 6 ft. high (18 inch pieces) so it would take a pretty hard driving rain to get to it since the roof extends almost 5 ft. past the wood. All my wood is cut, split, and stacked, at least 9 months before use.

Thanks for the video. Looks like a good update though more costly than the original drills I am managing to repair for a friend.

I have the same interlock. I love it. It is so simple and much more affordable and quicker install than a full transfer switch. And unlike alot of the transfer switches, this way the whole panel is hot.

New Sub here! I like the flashing idea as it is surely cheaper. Do you just roll it back up when you take them down? #slackoutdoors

Yes, that is also one of the really nice, simplistic features of using the flashing. You can roll several of them up together and it is very compact and easy to store. Thanks for question.

In all seriousness how many pieces in a half cord?
@reb1050
@reb1050 2 жыл бұрын
It's not measured in "pieces". A cord of firewood is stacked 4 ft high, by 4 ft. deep, by 8 ft. wide. Thus, half a cord is 4'x4'x4'.

what about side blowing snow?
@diyingcavedweller540
@diyingcavedweller540 2 жыл бұрын
unfortunately we can't protect against everything. Remember it takes over a foot of snow to equal 1 inch of water so a little blowing snow in the wood isn't too big of a deal. Also, if we were to cover the sides in any way we would hinder the ability of sun to hit the pile and air to move through as good slowing the process of seasoning the wood. Thanks for question.
