Andy Evansen is one of my absolute favorite Watercolor Artist/Instructors. He is consistent and clear about what he's doing. Never presumptuous. And wow, the paintings are fabulous! Making the simple appear so beautiful. It's like he deconstructs a scene and then allows it to fall together. I've never seen another artist handle the medium in this way. Fascinating.

Stunning to watch a genius at work and you can appreciate that it looks almost effortless but knowing better

A suggestion: the little screen showing the artist doing the painting is not necessary. What is that adding to the understanding of the process? Eliminating that little screen above the palette frees up space for showing the more important part.

I found it interesting to see how he is looking back and forth at his references and then painting. He's kinda nice to look at too 😉

An absolutely gorgeous painting. Love the colours and the action, drawing the viewer into the picture.
That was simply amazing to watch you do that all in one sitting. I love the way you work from the top to the bottom. It’s really kind of a style that I use, but I’ve tried not to do because I didn’t think it would really work in watercolor. I feel liberated. Thank you so much for the video.

I’m a big fan of Thomas Schaller. I can’t help but think of him as a watercolor/artist version of a Beatle. He’s super good at his craft, has a lot of class, and is just a really nice guy.

Hi Birgitta, I got to know of you ten years ago when my sister who lives in LA treated me to one of your painting books with a CD. I love your style of pail and have subscribed to your channel. Thank you for sharing your wonderful skills , from Glasgow in Scotland 🏴 😊

Thank you so much for demonstrating this technique. I tried a painting after watching another of your demos yesterday. It was a great experience and I learned so much from trying it. Your attitude helps - “remember, this is not a real painting” (from other video). Not worrying so much about accuracy allowed me to experiment and correct angles, hues and values.

Thank you. Your method of painting is very conceptual in nature. Your paintings are so soothing to look at because they reduce the number of units the brain has to keep track of. Your method of simplification gives your paintings integrity and your method mimics the process our brains perform when forming concepts. Each shape is like a mini abstraction that evokes a flood of concretes in the mind. It is really genius.
