I went to the wake of a lifelong friend today. I remembered when he and I were hanging out as kids listening to music and Old Violin was one of our favorites. RIP Hack. You will be missed and never forgotten.

Dean Martin had a cut of this , don't know what year. I saw George do this at Molson Park in Barrie. I think in 1984. WOW 40 years ago.

The Comox Valley 1980 & there wasn't a party where this wasn't part of the fun. Johnny wasn't everybody's cup of tea, but he sure went down well with a sippin' whiskey & a big bamboo blunt. I consider myself lucky I reached old age. Johnny & many friends didn't.

I've seen Merle Haggard twice in concert, first time was in 1982, my Mom took me and my little sister with her in Bakersfield. Then in 2000 I saw him again, a long with Marty Stewart and Connie Smith, I had my picture taken with Connie and I shook hands with Marty, and I wanted to meet Merle but couldn't, he was my hero, nobody else will ever come close to him but maybe his three sons, Marty Haggard and Noel Haggard or even Ben Haggard.
