Besides just the fact that he is probably the best country singer to have ever lived, he never turned his music into pop like so many did, abandoning those of us that know and love REAL country & western music. I also used to love Conway, Dolly, Ronnie Milsap, but they all changed their music into some type of "hybrid" country/pop stuff. Never enjoyed their music after they changed. Thank goodness George Jones never did that!!!!! Some who stayed "country" that I loved were, Freddie Hart, Don Gibson, Stonewall Jackson, Porter Wagoner.

Yeah, not surprised. After George left Musicor for Epic, he signed away a lot of royalties, so all to his Musicor tracks were licensed out for cheap (and still are). That's why this late Musicor compilation album will have a lot of the smae track listings as a lot of later compilation albums. Sometimes there will be similar examples with one or two Epic tracks on them to help move the album. That said, it's still a great album.
