Alright, I'll say it. I'm not sure Hawerchuk's hook on the Soviet player during the iconic "Gretzky to Lemieux" goal on the rush wasn't interference. It wasn't blatant, it was borderline. But it could easily have been a penalty without much controversy. Great hockey, though.

Look at the line-up: Lemieux, Gretzky, Messier, Bourque, Goulet, Coffey.... just not fair for other teams. Lol

I've been watching Canadian Hockey for around 50 years, in my opinion this Team was THE greatest Hockey Team ever assembled on Earth. Bar none.

The synergy of Gretzky and Lemieux on the ice was something superior and an anomaly in Hockey history. Something to whitness and remember.

How good was Doug Gilmour at this time? Best player on the ice at both ends. He was double shifting in OT and every time he was on the ice he was creating quality chances.

99, 66, 11, 77 and 7 on the power play, I remember watching this back then and I don’t think it really sank in on what kind of firepower we had on the PP👍🇨🇦

Still get goose bumps watching this. Best team canada in my life time. Russians were damn good and probably had one of the best lines ever, the KLM line. krutov, larioniov and makarov.

Gretzky's game resembled that of a chess master on ice hockey skates! His record 1,963 Career Assists alone merit the all-time points record in 246 fewer games than Jagr's 1,921 Career Points ranking second all-time.

I never understood why people said Gretzky was not a great skater... He wasn't a blazer, But he could shift directions and not lose a step, had a very quick first step Of course it helps when you always know where to be on the ice

This Bruins team was a goal scoring machine but their Defense was just awful and the Habs exploited that in this series. Theodore stole This and game 6 though.
