Suggest to put the black pepper at later stage together with the lemon juice.. Because you can see at 2:35 all the black peppers are burnt due to the long frying process. Burnt black pepper doesn't taste good. You can also ground the peppers and squeeze the lemon juice during eating time to get the freshness if that's what you prefer.

Love the way you explain everything! I can't wait to try this nostalgic recipe. Wow!!! I knew fried taro dumpling is hard to make at home, but I didn't know it's because of the oil temperature during the frying process. Thank you for your lovely video. Your mom is so talented!
