Many centuries ago, one alien ship crashed on earth. The surviving aliens were defeated by a local Indian tribe. The modern day aliens attempt to acquire the ship to assist in their subjugation of the planet.

I cringe when someone asserts that, in the 1953 film, the Martians are "flying." Close watching tells us that is incorrect. The "legs," according to the scientist-hero of the movie, are actually made of magnetic flux (or some other kind of faux-scientific gibberish) thus supporting the machines, as they would be with mechanical legs of the original story. Indeed, the legs are seen briefly as the Martians first emerge from the initial pit; an effect abandoned for some reason (probably money and time).

Its crazy how the anmimation and special effects in 1988, looks worse than the 1950's film XD

I guess it wasn't in the budget to show another of their classic war machines. Though it isn't nearly as silly as that time they took the weapon off of one and put it on a car of all things!

As cheesy as that episode was, I still liked it, especially since 3 of the members of Platinum Blonde, who are one of my favorite 80s bands, appeared as members of the biker gang. But I agree, it was a bit silly attaching the heat ray to the back of a hearse (and now it shoots a straight laser beam instead of a heat ray?)

@@mysticwolf75 Even if the aliens used human hosts that ended up looking like extras from The Walking Dead, season 1 was still reasonably good. You don't piss on it to try to make it better ! This series could've lasted a few seasons longer.

@@DanielAppleton-lr9eq I think it would have, had Sam and Greg Strangis been allowed to see their plans for the series through. Unfortunately, when Frank Mancuso Jr. took over production for season 2 (after he, himself, admitted to never watching season 1), he totally ruined it.

@@mysticwolf75 See ? Another suit who tosses canon into the crapper then basically substitutes THEIR OWN IDEAS & doesn't give a dog - fart about the original vision - although the movie that the 1st season was a continuation of wasn't HG Welles' vision 100 %, either, I guess.

@@Burn-mq6iw A LOT of science - fiction ships are triangular or nearly triangular in configuration. The people who report " alien spacecraft " supposedly see variations on the same shape.
